Where to register and when?

When do you register?  I am getting married next June.  My fiance and I will be living at his dad's house (he got remarried years ago) and we are making it our own for a few years.  Well I can already tell what we would need.  But should I wait?  Also where did you all register?  I was told not to register at Target but that is where I always go to get gifts (maybe it's just me)!   Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you like to cook (As I do) Williams-Sonoma is a GREAT place to register (do the online & in store) They both show up at both places but some stuff isn't online but is in store and vice versa. I have a lot of OOT people so I am also doing Crate & Barrel most people prefer one over the other. I am also probably going to do Macy's or Dillard's and Pottery Barn and then a friend is throwing us a big "couples" shower so FI will register at Home Depot or Lowe's. Depending on how many people you are inviting to your wedding, i would say try to do 3-5 stores. This gives variety! I am a June 2010 bride too but I got so excited when I started planning that I already signed up to a couple and got somethings on there, mostly things I KNOW will not change like stand-mixer and kitchen tools, etc. I will wait on china patterns and table settings. So, If you are eager to get some of that done, I say DO IT! HAVE FUN! as everyone says on here, "it's your wedding, have it your way"
