Vendor Reviews for 6/20/09 and LONG! Wedding Photos online, too!

Morgan and Jeremy’s Wedding Vendors/Reviews of our wedding June 20, 2009. We had an amazing day that we by SO fast! I am finally getting around to this! (After almost 2 months of being married!) I hope to help someone with my reviews. You are able to see photos of almost all of the vendor services in my wedding photos. (link at the bottom of the page). Photography-Khoi Tran Photography (Broken Arrow, OK) A++ They were my photographer for my engagement, bridal and wedding photos. I can’t imagine using any other photographer. Melisa and Khoi are a husband and wife team and are the sweetest and most accommodating ever. Jeremy wasn’t big on taking photos, but Melisa and Khoi put him (us) at ease and we had such a great day. I will use them for the rest of my photo needs. My wedding photos were a fabulous mix of candids and posed. There is a link at the bottom of the page if you want to check out the wedding photos. ☺ Videography-Jim Mixon (Tulsa, OK) A+ Jim was a great videographer and very, VERY reasonably priced. We got 3 DVD’s and a 2 camcorder coverage ceremony for a very great price. A little bit of a dorky guy, but good service. Cake-Merritt’s Bakery (Tulsa, OK) A+ Fabulous to work with. I brought in my own photo, color swatches and they made a fabulous looking cake. They delivered it and it looked just like I wanted it to. It was AMAZING tasting, too. You can’t go wrong with Merritt’s. It was a 4 tier cake that was soo yummy and it was almost all gone by the end of the night! Florist-Happily Ever After (Tulsa, OK) A+ Jodi (one of the owners) was great to work with. She worked over our contract to fit our budget at least 3 times. She also provided awesome looking flowers and did a great job. She also cleaned up afterwards. Very nice to work with and very accommodating. Caterer-Mershon’s Catering (Tulsa, OK) C Mershon’s was okay. They had great food, great set-up and a great ice cream sundae bar. Their wait staff was great, too. BUT, they throw in lot of hidden costs and they are VERY expensive. I wish I had shopped around for a cheaper caterer. They also were very hard to get a hold of and it seems we talked to a different person each time. I didn’t like how I would email them and it would take a week for them to respond, not to mention phone calls. It seemed like they were never there. They also tried to talk us into 2 bartenders, which we didn’t need (based on our numbers) and then was snotty when we were set on 1 bartender instead of 2. Since we had to pay 10 days before (when we thought it was 7 days) it was a big surprise, PLUS, I didn’t think it was going to be sooo expensive. I didn’t like how the handled us at the final payment. Plus, we had the reception venue (and them) until midnight and they started cleaning up at 11:15pm…not a good move. We didn’t like that, either. So, shop around before you use them. Invitations-DIY A+ I made them and used paper and ribbon from Michaels. I also used paper from paperandmore.com and labels for the brown envelopes from onlinelabels.com. Great online sites and awesome customer service. I love making the invites, even though they were time consuming! Programs-DIY (paperandmore.com and onlinelabels.com) A+ My MOH and BM and I made the programs ourselves. I got the paper from paperandmore.com. Great service and fast shipping. OOT Bags-DIY-Sam’s Club (Tulsa, OK) and onlinelabels.com (online). We also made OOT bags for our guests. We used onlinelabels.com for our stickers on the OOT bags and paperandmore.com to order brown Kraft bags. Great service. Sam’s was good to go to for the items for the OOT bags. Liquor-Ranch Acres Liquor Store (Tulsa, OK) A+ Awesome liquor store that worked with us and helped us figure out how much to buy. PLUS, they let us return what we didn’t use-as long as it wasn’t messed up by the ice. Great place! Flower girl dress-www.mygirldress.com (online) A+ Great online site. No problems here. Got it ordered and they shipped fast. Wedding Favors-DIY A+ My parents and I made the personalized monogrammed tiles out of clay and the guests loved them. Khoi Tran Photography also ordered bookmarks (with our engagement pics on them) as another favor. (I LOVE to read!) Rehearsal Dinner-Caz’s Chowhouse (Tulsa, OK) A+ Amazing place! They are family friends and treated us awesome. Lindsey was a fantastic waitress for our group of 40-50! She even remembered our names! (everyone’s!) Plus, Jeff (the owner) made personalized menus just for us and we got to use the balcony for our private use. Everyone raved about the food, too! This place is amazing in all areas! Hotel for Guests-Doubletree Downtown (Tulsa, OK) A+ They were great to work with and even handed out our OOT bags for us. Very accommodating to us and our guests. They even let me rent a suite for my girls and I to get dressed in for half-price for just 3 hours. Tucker was great to work with at the front desk. Bridal and Bridal Party Jewelry-Donna Prigmore (Broken Arrow, OK) A+ Donna is our family friend and make amazing-looking jewelry. She took swatches and made beautiful pearl jewelry for me, my MOH, my BM and my mom. ☺ Venue-Mid-Continent Tower (Tulsa, OK) A+ Great place! Stacy was awesome to work with and answer questions. She had her reception here and was a great resource and always responded promptly. I thought it was one of the cheaper places to rent in Tulsa, too. (which is ALWAYS a plus!) Hair-Joannie Warrior at Bellissima Salon (Tulsa, OK) A+ She did wonderful jobs on my bridal pictures hair and my wedding day and my bridesmaids. Make-up-Amy Diamond at Bellissima Salon (Tulsa, OK) A+ She did an amazing job and was sweet. Wedding Attire-David’s Bridal (Joplin, MO) A+ No problems here. They even took my plain zip-up dress and turned it into a gorgeous corset back dress! Great to use for MOH and Bridesmaid who were both in different parts of the state. Groomsman Attire-Men’s Warehouse (Tulsa, OK) A+ Groom had to be re-fitted the week of the wedding and (thank goodness) they got it in on Thursday before the wedding. Awesome customer service. Ceremony Venue-First United Methodist Church (Mannford, OK) C They get a C because the pastor was VERY unorganized and almost forgot to meet with us 2 times for counseling, which was hard for us to schedule with Jeremy being in Texas and me being in MO and OK. Rings-Jared’s and Kay’s (San Antonio, TX) A+ Can’t complain! Musicians-Musicians Unlimited (Tulsa, OK) B Only because 2 of the 3 (String Trio) were 20 minutes late (due to construction). Didn’t refund any money. But did do what I wanted them to—play gorgeous ceremony music. DJ-DJ Connection (Tulsa, OK) A+ Amazing DJ and VERY accommodating with extra music requests (during the wedding reception). Nice guy and got everyone up and dancing. The dancing was SO much fun, thanks to DJ Connection. Honeymoon-Unforgettable Honeymoons.com (Oregon) A+ Great to work with our budget and time. Highly recommended by us! Rene (owner) actually worked with us one-on-one to help us achieve our dream honeymoon. Honeymoon Destination-Hermitage Bay (Antigua) A++ Visit hermitagebay.com to see the gorgeous resort. The staff was amazing and wonderful and SO friendly. We want to return here SO badly. They meet you at the airport, get you through customs and give you cold towels and bottles of water (while the jealous Sandals people look on!). The staff was sooo friendly and loved to chat with you, if you were in a chatty mood. They brought cold drinks and towels to the beach for you. Only 50 people were allowed on the grounds at a time. It was very private and we loved the private plunge pool attached to our amazing gorgeous villa. Can’t say enough about this fabulous resort. Here is how to check out the wedding photos. Go to http://www.millersalbums.com/ then type in the event code. 76690w62009. Then sign up (they won't bother you or anything). and click submit. It will take you to the site to view. Click on the View Slideshow to see them in a slideshow format. Warning! There are 552 photos, so it takes a little bit of time to see them, but I have to say that I love them! Enjoy!
