Ring bearer with pillow a must?

Our ringbearer is my fiance's nephew who is 3. We thought about a pillow for him to carry the rings, but Im not sure he will make it down the aisle once he sees all the guests, and if he does, Im not sure the pillow will make it with him. Haha. Hes unpredictable. Is it a must that he walk down the aisle with a pillow? Or are there alternatives?

Our plan was to have ours carry a toy and that would be his gift. His favorite toy at the time turned out to be Legos, and I decided a box of Legos would be noisy, so I got him a stuffed animal instead. At the rehearsal, he got scared and cried until someone gave him a cell phone camera to carry and record while walking. Unconventional, but OK by me! Day of, he didn't want the phone, either, so he just walked with nothing. Hahaha! So whatever you decide on, always be prepared that it may not go as planned!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

[QUOTE]Don't put the real rings on the pillow.  Use fake rings, tied to the pillow with ribbon.  The best man can have the real rings in his pocket, and quietly produce them when they are needed. We didn't have a ring bearer, but now I sort of wish we did so I could let him dress up like a little bear, lol.

  • We aren't having a traditional ring bearer. My little cousin will be walking down the aisle with FI's neice (flower girl) carrying a "Here Comes the Bride" banner I am DIY-ing. He's a bit bashful, so if on the day of he changes his mind, no big deal.

  • Our kids walked down carrying flowers. Regardless of gender. You don't need a "ring bearer" to have the kids included.

  • Our "ring bearer" was our son and he didn't use a pillow. I thought it was cute that he pulled them out of his pocket and gave them to my H.

  • It is pretty common for a flower girl to pull a vey young ringbearer in a wagon in my area.
