Merion

Hi, does anyone have any advice/opinions/prices for the Merion.  Do they negotiate prices?   Want to have a wedding there but it seems a bit out of our price range at over 180 a plate!

Did you go and do a tour and get an actual price quote or is the $180 pp something you've heard online??  Pricing also depends on which day and month you are planning on having the wedding.  I worked with Cathy and she's been amazing in terms of throwing in freebies and such.

Fridays nights and Sundays, as well as off season months are lower there. Also, the Palazzo and Empire rooms are about $15-20pp cheaper.  I booked the Palazzo for this November at $144.46 pp.

They are also very willing to negotiate.  They brought the price down $25/person from what I was originally quoted, and threw in an ice sculpture and a martini bar.  And, that was for a Saturday night in April.  So they will still negotiate even if it's not for a Friday or Sunday or a non-peak month.

They ALWAYS negotiate...but go in ready to book. They brought my price lower because I told them I would book that night. I am on a Saturday and I got a great price. Also just be creative because if you bring other ideas to the table they are willing to work with you and do some different things to lower the cost. Off season also gives you more negotiating room.

Susan is my coordinator for the Merion, and she did so much for us. We booked a Friday night which was cheaper to begin with, but she even brought it down $25 pp more without taking anything away from us. I cant say from official experience yet, but everything they told me about the Merion and how they make every occasion there "the event of the century" I would def say they are worth every penny :-) I cant wait to get closer just to start the planning process with them :-)
