The Merion in Cinnaminson

Hi everyone! I'm newly engaged and have started looking at Reception Venues. The Merion looks gorgeous online but I wanted to see if anyone has any idea of the average price per head or ever got a quote for them? My price rance is probably up to $130/head (tax and gratuity included) but I've heard they might be more than that. Thanks!

Depends on the date and I believe the room you're in.  I'm sure you could do it there for that price if you are flexible.

Thanks! Looking at the website, any of those rooms look fantastic. The place I really loved was Cescaphe in Philly, but it was $155 a head. I wonder if I know you PharmJen.. Are you a pharmacist as well?

We're having our reception at Cescaphe on a Friday and it's $10 less pp.  Not much less but that's tax and gratuity included.  There's so much that they offer that if you are willing to consider a Friday, I would HIGHLY recommend it!  I know a lot of people aren't fans of Fri weddings though (me included).  We wanted a Sat in May but the first one they had available was in July (we went there in NOV!!).  I didn't want to make our engagment any longer than 18 months so we went with a Friday. Not a pharmacist - I have a PhD in pharmacology = )

The Merion is about $130 on the low end, according to my research and convos with the woman there.  I loved Cescaphe, but it was out of my range.  I am having mine at Lucien's and I got an amazing price for a ton of service and food.  I have heard nothing but great things about Luciens.

We went to Cescaphe last week and they were already booked for all of fall and just opened up Spring! I like that they give you a set price with everything included. My mom is insistent on a Saturday night, unfortunately, and since she is paying for most of it, we have to listen! That place is incredible. -your wedding will be fantastic. We actually really liked the idea of Lucien's too but a close friend is getting married there like a month before we were planning. so we were trying to switch it up. I went to a wedding there recently and loved it We might end up there any way though!

Aww, thanks!I've been to both The Merion and Lucien's and personally thought you got a little more bang for your buck at Lucien's.  And I liked the food there more.  The service at The Merion was really great though.  The one big drawback (IMO) to both places is that there's more than one wedding going on at time.Have you looked into The Downtown Club in Philadelphia?

i'm not sure of the price, but i was in a wedding at the merion last may- it was very nice, but definitely keep in mind that they do more than one wedding at a time. It made it hard for taking pictures, as well as we had to share a bridal suite with another wedding that was coming in. the food and service were pretty good- but definitely keep in mind that its a very busy place. it kind of took away from the whole thing a little bit for me...  look into the collingswood grand ballroom-- its gorgeous, and you can bring in your own caterer.

I had my wedding at the Merion this past June and it was fantastic. I had my own a Sunday so it was on the lower end. But they really went above and beyond to make the day special. The venue is beautiful and all the rooms are pretty. I heard that the food , cocktail hour and dessert were great! (I didn't get to eat much lol).  I did see one other wedding. But I saw the them briefly for a second before my ceremony began. we did see them at all during pictures or any other time throughout the night. I believe they stagger the events for this reason. I really dont have anything negative or bad to say about The Merion.

We looked there.  It was very nice but I did not feel it was the venue for us.  We actually stopped at the Westin on our way to the Merion and I knew that was our place, we went to our apt at the Merion anyway to be sure :) A Saturday in the skylight Ballroom (June) was almost $200 pp after tax and gratuity, I dint think it was worth that price.....IMO.  GL!

Yea, the Merion is way overpriced. My fiance and I had an appointment there a few weeks ago, and unfortunately, it was on a Saturday, so it was absolutely crazy. All 3 brides were taking pictures in the lobby while their guests were coming in (because their big staircase is right there at the entrance), that was the biggest turn off for me. We waited a good thirty minutes in the lobby because it was so over-crowded and their was no doorperson or concierge or anything like that. Overall some of the rooms were pretty, but I realized immediately that going on a Saturday really shows me how they handle weddings, and it's not my style.

I am having my wedding at the Merion, June 2010 and I am not paying anything close to $200/person with the skylight room.  If you go and talk to Sue she will make it happen for you! She has great suggestions to make it affordable.  Also the skylight room is the only room on the 3rd floor with its own bridal suite and bathroom.

Thanks jmitchell. I actually just booked mine at the Merion for next November, and it was under $150 a head (tax and grautuity included) for the Palazzo Room, which was my favorite anyway bc I liked the idea of setting up in that long hallway. That whole place looks amazing and the menu is insane!

Hi! I just called and they said we must take a tour..I heard alot of great things about this place and also found that it might cost around $$140-166/pp (skylight) (in october). I think it also depends when you're getting married. I'm planning on May but I'm not sure what their prices if the prices I mentioned include food AND OPEN bar. My budget "was" around what you're paying. Which is reasonable but I guess if you're going to want a memorable wedding an extra 50 bucks per head would hurt. =)Let me know if you guys found what other prices ranges are. Thanks

I ended up booking there because we loved it. I booked November 6, 2010, and my price was $144.46 per head for the Palazzo. The empire room was the same, and the Palace and skylight were $160 per person. It includes 5 and a half hour open bar, 6 stations (on a saturday), butlered appetizers, and the sit down meal and wedding cake. The place was the most amazing one I saw so we just went with it!

We just booked for November next year as well for the Empire Ballroom... use the pricing already given on this thread as a guide but there is always room for negotiation!  It really depends on the month, day of the week and room you pick!  We loved the Skylight but realistically, the Empire was beautiful too (and discounted) Plus Empire has it's own floor so no mingling with others around bathrooms or bridal suites! Can't wait :-)
