Need suggestions

What kind of favor should I buy/make for my MIL's 50th surprise birthday party?

Bunchy (Emily) just made the favors for my MIL's surprise 50th birthday party last week-and they were a huge hit! She made palm tree cookies(my MIL is a HUGE Jimmy Buffet fan) with little favor tags on them- they were cute and yummy! She'll probably have a great idea:-)

I'm thinking with your skills- something edible... then again, when am I not thinking edible? simple coookies in a "50" shape? black, white, silver/grey candy buffet?

I always say do something edible....especially chocolate :)  I don't care what it's shaped like if it's chocolate!!!

Edible favors are always good! Something else to do might be to do something like a "Remember When" theme and have a favor be something that was popular 50 years ago, like the hula hoop (I know they are huge and may not be ideal for space) or something Hawaiian since Hawaii became a state in 1959.
