Teachers- Changing your Name

hey all, I got married two months ago and I'm trying to figure out how to change my name on my teacher certification. Anyone know? The website isn't too helpful on this particular subject. Thanks in advance!

Ughhh... good question.  When you find out, let me know.  You can always call that awful number where you can only call between 1-3 and then we wait for 30 min, then they hang up on you.  : )  Sorry. Good luck.

I found the info online last year when I did it. And part of me wants to say that I was able to start the process online. I'll have to look if I have still have the info someplace.
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz

It cost 60 bucks for each certificate. You don't need to update your Cert of Eligibility if you have the standard but if you have a 2nd one in a subject area, you need to pay for each. Here is the application. You have to send all the old ones with your maiden name plus copies of other forms of ID along with a marriage certificate which they send back. It also had to be notarized. http://www.state.nj.us/education/educators/license/forms/name_change.pdf

And perhaps I should've finished looking at everything I had before I sent a message. I believe I paid online and started the process but had to mail stuff in. http://www.state.nj.us/education/educators/license/tcis/

I don't want to think about this.  I still have to call for them to send my elementary certificate.  I have elementary and special ed in PA.  I only currently have special ed in NJ although I qualify and have applied for elementary ed.  They haven't processed it and don't feel like stilling on the phone to talk to someone.

mumidi- i'm sure it's not something pressing if you dont plan on switching jobs.  i am a teacher in nyc now, but plan on moving back to jersey int he future, so i need my cert changed.  i also am certified in pa, and so that's next!
