Has anyone ever stayed there or is planning on honeymooning there?  If so, what's your take on the place?

    We are considering the Royal in Playa Del Carmen, since the Trip Advisor reviews are so excellent.

    We are staying there for our honeymoon. We know someone who stayed there 3 times and loved it. We did a lot of research on resorts in Cancun and Riviera Maya and chose this one based on reviews, location, and we got a pretty good deal. We were going to book Excellence Cancun but it was a lot more money and the travel agent said the she preferred Royal resorts. HTH.

    We did the exact same thing, we're planning on Excellence, til we saw the prices and reviews for Royal.

    Lisa, I actually emailed a couple of the people on trip advisor and they said it was awesome!
