food tasting Sunday

We have our food tasting at One Atlantic on Sunday.  What should my FI wear?  shirt and tie or khakis and button down?  Anyone else going to be there?!

TIA

Hi, we just booked The One Atlantic for our November 2010 wedding and b/c it's so soon, we can't attend the tasting on sunday 8/8/10.  I would love to hear how it went, how the food was, and what your fav's were?  If you don't mind...  When are you getting married there?

HI JIll!  We are getting married on Nov 13, 2010!  98 days I am sooo excited!  When is your wedding?  I will definitely let you know about the food tasting.  Why can't you attend...because of your prior commitments or were they full??  How did you like One Atlantic so far??

Hii, so how did it go?  We weren't able to attend b/c they said they were full!  How did you like everything?  We absolutely fell in love w/ One Atlantic as soon as we say it!  We are from North Jersey/NYC and have checked out every venue up here when I saw an add for One Atlantic in one of the mags.  My fiance has business's in Ocean City, NJ so we decided to ck it out one day and that was it!  We are getting married on Saturday night of Thanksgiving weekend  11/27.   I'm sure you could imagine i am going crazy w/ planning as it's only 3 months away! LoL.  Would love to hear how it went.  Also, what kind of decor are you guys gonna have for the cocktail area?  We didn't even have our appt w/ the event planner there yet!  Thanks...

    Jill,

We absolutely love it there!  Everytime we go back we get even more excited for our wedding day.  The tasting went really well.  It was buffet style, they passed 3 hors d'oeuvres none of which we were crazy about (tuna tartar on a potato chip, tenderloin on a garlic crostini, and spaghetti and meatball). For us we do not eat raw fish so the tartar was out, the tenderloin was very rare, and the spaghetti and meatball was cute but the taste was just OK.   We will be selecting different hor d'oeuvres off of the list they provided.  For the first course they offered 3 different salads (One Atlantic field greens with candied pecans, dried cherries, goat cheese topped with a citrus vinaigrette; salad from the Ivy, mache, avocado with basil oil; and lettuce mix with frisee, cucumber, radish, carrots, tomato water vinaigrette).  The One Atlantic salad was by far the best!!  For the entree selections they had fish (miso crusted sea bass, herb and panko crusted hailbut, pan seared black bass, and seared tuna with wasabi creme fresh), beef (mushroom crusted pan seared veal loin, flat iron pepper steak, and sliced filet mignon), and chicken (french cut chicken breast with au jus sauce, panko crusted stuffed chicken with spinach and mushroom).  Our favorites were the miso glazed sea bass and the sliced filet mignon.  The chicken was really good too!  They offered three starches; mashed potatoes, fingerling potatoes, and celery root and parsnip puree.  They were all really tasty!  They had a sample cake from Bake Works.  It was chocolate chip with vanilla or chocolate butter cream frosting and it was too die for!!!!

For the cocktail area we are keeping it really simple because the seating area is so limited so I bought square glass votives that will be placed on the cocktail tables with light pink rose petals around them.  I figured its one hour and they close that bar during the reception anyway.

Let me know if you have any more questions!  You can email me at mp375@drexel.edu

    Good luck with your planning!
