The Merion

Hi ladies!

I know many of you have booked weddings at the Merion, so maybe you can help answer a question I have.

Are there rooms that can handle 100-150 people without feeling too empty?

It seems that there is a problem with the Merion website and under "Ballrooms" it does not allow you to scroll down.  The only descriptions I can read are for ballrooms that can accommodate up to 275 or 300 people.

My FI and I are going to start looking at places next weekend.  I don't want to go to the Merion if 150 people is too small of a guest count for those rooms.

Thanks!

I just booked the Merion last Saturday! If you go their website and click on Ballrooms at the top of the page, it lists each ballroom and the number of people it can fit. We're hoping to have around 130 and are in the Palazzo room (which can hold 600 people!). They can make the room smaller and we're going to try and keep it to 8-10 people per table to maximize the space. I think it'll be perfect and I cannot wait!!! Good luck with your search!

I am in the Empire Room and are having 150 people.   I am having more tables of 8.  I saw it set up for 150, and it looked totally fine.

I had  a bit more than you. But I just got married on January 15th and it was ABSOLUTELY amazing.. you will have the best weddings you could ever imagine.  Who are you working with?

I haven't wrote my reviews yet (just got back from my honeymoon), but I will shortly!

We are booked in The Palace and started our count at 150, unfortuately we are having troubles cutting our list to stay there... however we were completely happy at 150 in that room.

So basically, the merion does have some great options for 100-150. go check it out. the most you loose is an hour out of the day :-) Good Luck!

We were in the Skylight room with 125 and I never felt like the room was empty.... especially for cocktail hour, the room was actually full and I was wondering how they fit weddings of 200+...  I think you'll be ok in any of the rooms with 150!

We got married at the Merion a few weeks ago and due to some weather and family issues we ended up with about 85 people in The Skylight Ballroom. Due to the tables we used and the way they set the room up, it EASILY looked full and wonderful. The Palace is also a room that could handle smaller guest counts as well. One day (far far far off in the future) when we have a child, we plan on having a Christening there and we definitely won't have over 100 people! So I figure if they have smaller things like that they know how to maximize room space for those types of things.

I totally was talking to Cathy about (when I get pregnant) throwing my baby shower and Christening parties at the Merion that's how much I loved my wedding there!

    Thanks, ladies!

I have been against the "wedding mill" type venues, but everything I have heard about The Merion has been wonderful!

I will definitely check it out!

We had our wedding in the Palace Room with 140 people and it didn't feel empty at all!
