Rehersal Dinner near Smithville

Hi everyone!

I'm getting married in July at the Smithville Inn, but live about an hour away and don't really know the areas. Does anyone know of any good/inexpensive rehersal dinner spots nearby? I know there is another resturaunt right in Smithville but I'm trying to keep it to around $300 (or less) for around 30 people.

It doesn't have to be fancy, a pizza place with a nice private room would work just fine!

Thanks!

I went to school at Stockton... and haven't been down there for awhile. But I know Gourmet Restaurant, right down the road from Smithville does private parties.... and i don't think its super expensive. I remember the food being really good, too!

Gourmet Italian is delicious!  I think they start at $20 a person...that's what I remember from when were looked there for ours.

Fred and Ethels is the other restaurant in Smithville, and we looked there too, but it really wasnt that nice looking (NOTHING like the Smithville Inn).

We had our Rehearsal Luncheon at Ram's Head Inn (doing a lunch takes half off the price) and it was fantastic.  It's in Galloway and not far from Smithville.

Up the street from Smithville is also Seaview, and I know they work in any budget and have some fun sort of menus for different occasions.

What I did was google for catering/restaurants in the area and did some research.  My MIL chose Ram's Head for sentimental reason and sorta told us we had no option as to where we had it haha.  But googling helped give her a list of other places to check out!

I also vote Gourmet - yummy, nice atmosphere, good prices and lots of menu items to choose from!

Thanks for the suggestions...I've been looking on Urbanspoon but not having much luck, a lot of places don't have websites!

Gourmet Italian looks good! If we went with the brunch menu we might be able to make it work. Would it be strange to have brunch first then go to an afternoon rehersal? It would be on a Saturday so no work issues for anybody.

I have a feeling $300 is going to be a bit hard for 30 people!

I agree with PPs, Gourmet is delicious.
Also, Fred and Ethel's might not be the most beautiful of places but the food is always very good.  FI and I had our graduation dinner together there with our families and they were very accommodating to our group.

Thanks again! I'll have to work on that pesky budget thing. I'd love something super casual and would totally go for an at home bbq but we live in an apt. an hour away!

Italian Gourmet seems to be at the top of the list, however!
