Did anyone need their SSN cards when applying for their marriage license? We are going tomorrow and we can only find a copy of FI card. I'm a little nervious. We do have the orginal birth certs, passports, and our licenses.
Thanks!

Yes we needed our SS cards.  She didnt seem like she would have been satisfied with us just telling her it.  I'm sure they will accept a copy though.  You can just say it's in a safe deposit box and you didnt have time to stop to get it.  They might let you slide.

Thanks. We are going to try. We actually think it might be in  his partent' saftey deposit box which is 1.5 hours away - but his Mom thinks that we have it. I'm going to hope for the best. Luckily, we have a few weeks until the wedding so if they reject us, then we will try again next week after we tear the house apart.

Our place allowed us to show the paper proof when we picked up the license a week later.  You should be fine.

We got our marriage license in Burlington County and we didn't need our SS cards at all, they didn't even ask.

You definitely need them if you go to the clerk at the Mays Landing/Hamilton Twp. office.

I'm so releived. The clerks office in Glassboro took the copy of FI's ssn card. Didn't even ask or say a word about it being a copy. :) We are one step closer to being married!!! :)
