New Jersey - South

The Westin - Mt. Laurel

Hi!  I'm wondering if anyone here can give me some information on The Westin in Mt. Laurel for a reception.  Was the space impressive?  Were rates higher than average for South Jersey?

I was initially looking at Philadelphia sites for my reception, but I am increasingly becoming discouraged about how expensive it is!

Any help is appreciated!  Thanks!!

I was at a wedding there last Oct and it was really nice. From what the bride told me, the prices were pretty on par with many other nice venues around S. Jersey

Our reception is being held at The Westin. I fell in love with the space as soon as I walked in the door. They have several different ballrooms, depending on the size of your event. We chose the largest ballroom b/c of our reception size and i love, love, love the chandeliers in that ballroom.

Their prices are very reasonable. For a cocktail hour and 4 hour reception I believe the pricing starts at about $90 per person. This includes their top shelf open bar as well. You can add other things in...for example, I think their venetian dessert display is a certain amount extra per guest, and they have other add ons.  However in the listing that the provided me that shows everything the include, I dont think add ons are going to be necessary.

I also liked The Westin b/c it isn't a 'wedding factory'. I have been to events there in the past and the weddings or other parties weren't jumbled together or bumping into eachother. We've been working with Melanie on our event and she's been very responsive and very forthcoming with information. I've also been to other venues in that area and I can honestly say The Westin is the one I like the most.

Also, their hotel is also really nice and if you block your rooms there, they are really affordable.

I'm also having my wedding there in June and I am happy so far with everything.  The major planning, i.e. the tastings and stuff havent started yet but the place is really nice. Everything is included in the price including the cake from The Classic Cake Company.  We are having our wedding on a Friday evening and the cost is $80 pp with a 100 person minimum.  We booked it in 2009 so I am not sure if the prices went up but if you are willing it can be substantially cheaper with a smaller minimum if you go for a Friday or Sunday.  It worked for us. They have a great atrium and beautiful ballrooms.  Good Luck with everything!

I am having my reception there in Sept 2011 and I can not be more excited.  I agree with alot of things the other brides are saying.  THere are only two weddings able to be going on on any given day and they stack them to where you will not be interfering with eachother. The ballrooms are gorgeous and the pricing compared to others in the area are very reasonable.  I love the fact that my guests dont have to worry about being shuttled from one location to another to another.  I am able to have EVERYTHING at one location.
