XP: Hydrangea Centerpieces

I already posted this post on the Flower and 9/10 Boards, but I want to ask my fellow South Jersey Knotties, esp. those who are already married, their advice on the following question:

I want to use blue hydrangeas for my reception table centerpieces.  In your opinions, what size and shape of vase would be best for this kind of flower?  We're having mostly round tables that fit 8 people each.  TIA!

I know you are doing your own centerpieces, but are you using silk or real.  I ask because Hydrangea's need to be waterpicked or they will die very quickly if you are using real.  Just a tip.

I think hyrdangea's look better gathered like a "bushel" so I think a round container would seem right.

And I love them, a very romantic look!

One of my friends and I did centerpieces for her wedding. Her wedding coordinator helped us put them together. We used 3 ft. square vases with two hydangea heads and short square vases (different sizes) with one - two heads. The smaller vases we wrapped the leaves around to eliminate stems. They looked beautiful when we were done. Good luck with yours!

Kim:  I'm using real hydrangeas for the centerpieces, silk flowers for my bridal party flowers.  Thanks for the tips, ladies.

I used artifical ones for my centerpieces and for the bouquets.
