Venue Selection

I just wanted to poll you ladies and find out what venue you have selected for your big day. Sooooo which one stole your heart away? I am asking for personal reasons bc I don't know what my problem is, but the more I visit them the more they look a like. Nothing has stolen my heart yet! Help. Which one did you select??? (And if you feel like being extra helpful, why?) Thanks!

i chose Seaview Country Club in Galloway. There are several reasons i chose it.  First was the fact that Jennifer ( the catering manager) actually took the time to write me a personal email upon my first inquiry.  It wasnt just a standard form letter.

    2. We could have our ceremony there.  We are scheduled for an outdoor wedding, but are getting married on October 30th.  They automatically set up an indoor room in the event of inclimate weather.

    3. Jennifer and Jessice (the wedding coordinator) have been extremely helpful in answering all of my questions and directing me in the right direction when i get off course.

    4. There is a hotel right on premises (we have a lot of out of town guests)

    5.  The venue is gorgeous.  We can get pictures right there also.  We have access to all 600 acres.

    6.  We saved 10% for booking our venue within this year!!

Hope this helps!!! You will know when you walk into the perfect place....

We chose Seaview for some of the same reasons campergrlsugar listed.
    Some others include:
We could make changes the package menu.
We didn't have to worry about an outside baker.
We didn't have to worry about a rental company.
We saved 10% for booking on a Sunday.

I chose the Westin in Mt Laurel.  I wanted a place where we could have the ceremony and reception all in one location.  I also wanted to have a place where everyone could party and have a great time and not worry about driving home and since it is a hotel that was not an issue.  The place is gorgeous and Melanie there has been very helpful.  I have just under 15 months to the big day but in reading other peoples reviews and going there on several occasions just to see how other people have set up each time I got i just get that feeling that this is it.  I didnt get that anywhere else.

I picked the Merion. It has the right feel for us and their package is amazing. They will be flexible and work with you but they include SO much it's really hard to beat.

I'm Jennifer, and I am having my reception at The Chelsea in Atlantic City! Krissie has been more than helpful, and the ballroom and the hotel itself was gorgeous! I loved the feel of it, and since we're in AC..there's lots to do for our OOT guests!

Venice Plaza in Berlin. It's really beautiful inside and the food is amazing!! The price is really reasonable and we were able to have the ceremony there as well. I have a good amount of vegetarians and I wanted to substitute some hors d'oveurs for vegetarian ones but Mike just threw in three extra options at no cost. Basically whatever idea we've had he said we could do.

Hey Courtney, I'm Jasmin. Or Jas. I'm getting married 8/8/10. I already spoke to Jessica about cake design, but we going to sit down with the pastry chef next month.

Just to add, a big reason we went with Seaview over our other choice was alcohol. Seaview is providing all our alcohol of the bar whereas The Flanders, we'd have to bring any alcohol we wanted because Ocean City is a dry town.

We also chose the Merion... to be honest, my fiance and I had actually picked another hall and left a deposit last October... When we booked it, we walked out and it was almost like a "Did we really love it that much or did they just offer us a great deal?" kind of feeling...  they changed the price after we signed a contract so we decided to look for halls again in May (less than a year til the wedding date). We live in Staten Island and we did not want to go that far south, it was over our budget and we got lost on the way there so I'm not even sure WHY we ended up walking through the doors but the minute we did, we both just knew it. Our coordinator is amazing and both she and one of the owners worked with us to meet out budget and even threw in two extra stations... One of the things they did that we loved that NO ONE else did is feed us when we came to see it for the first time! I loved the fact that we got to make sure we were going to like the food before we gave them any money. Honestly I've been there again since we signed our contract and being there just makes me feel calm and I know no matter what, we're going to have a beautiful day with people who are going to do their best to make sure we have a wonderful wedding without a worry.

Hi! We picked the Westin Mt. Laurel (hi lynzy333!) for some of the same reasons lynzy333 mentioned above. It was a beautiful setting, we are having a lot of out of town guests and I didn't want everyone worrying about the driving factor, Melanie was helpful, knowledgable and warm, and we booked on a Friday and got a nice discount. I'm getting married June 24, 2011 so I have some time but so far so good!

    Good Luck!
