Wedding Site - Harbor Pines

Any thoughts on this reception location?  Can it fit a large group?  Thanks!

How large do you need to accomodate?  We looked there and are estimating about 125 or so, and we didnt think that everyone could sit comfortably there.  If you're doing a buffet, the food is actually in the front entrance of the place.  They only have room to have an outdoor ceremony, which would be on the golf course, but if you want inside, they stick you on this tiny deck, which is open and where you cocktail hour will be, and they told us that if they couldnt fit the 125 guests on the deck, they could watch from the reception room, while they set up.  We just thought the place was not good for the amount of guests we were having.

PLUS, they charge a $2 cake cutting fee, per person if you dont go with their bakery.  Their bakery is Irene from Irene's Pastry's and her cakes were not that great!  Her icing had no taste and her cake was dry.

I believe they have a "bridal show" coming up.  It's in quotes because its only the vendors they use, and its only to show off their place, and like 5 people show up.  Some of the vendors don't even show up, just simply place their display with cards.  I went back in November and was so surprised they would charge $5 (brides can attend free if you pre-register).

I hope this helps you...the venue isn't horrible, it just isnt right for large groups.  for a small intimate wedding, it would be better suited for.
