Cake tasting!

Hello Everyone!
I went to the Merion today to design and choose a cake and Diane was just lovely...she just moved back to the area; not a maternity leave after all...she was very nice, very creative, and the cakes were DELICIOUS! We saw Vinny who was sweet as ever...We are so excited; we cannot say how happy we are with Cathy, Vinny, Cliff, Christos, and now Diane. Can't wait!

    That's great! I'm so glad you liked her. I decided to cancel my Isgro's appointment and go with her too. She's supposed to call me, but I haven't heard anything yet.

    Yes, you will like her very much! We tried the black and white choc/vanilla cake, the vanilla with rasberry filling, and the red velvet. I think we are leaning towards the red velvet!

    mariantheb - When I spoke to Diane she said that we could taste 2 flavors. DId you have to pay to taste three? How did that work for you?  We are doing our cake tasting in 2 weeks.

    I canceled with Isgros as well.  They were being difficult and were starting to worry me that I wasn't going to get what I wanted in the long run.  I'm going to meet Diane this Friday.  Beyond excited.  She's been awesome to work with via email.  I asked if I could taste three flavors because I just couldn't decide on only 2.  We're going to try the vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream, vanilla cake with orange marmalade filling and grande marnier buttercream and almond cake with raspberry jan and vanilla buttercream.  We aren't big fans of red velvet and the groom's cake is going to be chocolate so I'm sticking with the more traditional vanilla cake.

    So cannot wait to taste the cake and figure out the design of my cake!

    Aprovencher21 - Please post friday and let me know what you think of the different flavors. I think some of those are the same flavors that I am interested in as well. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

    Whoa, those sound fantastic!  Did they send you a list of the different flavors you can try?  And I think we were told we could have a different flavor for different tiers...
