photographer needed

Hi Ladies,

I am looking for a photographer, i really don't want to use a company like the pros or perfectday ect.  The photographer can be just getting started really great work just not "big" yet. I am looking to spend $1500-$3000.  Let m know if you ladies can recommend someone.
Thanks in advance!

    Hey Jill--

We're using Rich and Anne Lavigne. They are from North Jersey (Old Bridge), but with travel costs to Voorhees (about $65) and an engagement session plus 8 hours on the day of, we're paying $3400 (including taxes). I know that's a little above your budget, but I'm sure they'll work with you. They are growing their wedding business, but have backgrounds in other types of photography.

You can check out their blog at http://www.richlphotography.com/blog/

we used Paul Dempsey.  We paid about $2100 for an engagement shoot, 10 hours of coverage for the wedding, an extra photographer for 4 hours, and we got a large matted print of our favorite engagement pic for our guests to sign (our guest book).  He was awesome!!! He is located in Ventnor.

Here are some links to his website and his blog (our picture is the one of the sneakers LOL)

We used Inger from Keepsake Studios:  Including all the pictures, the proofs, our album, our parents' albums, engagement pictures, 2 photogs, a picture for each of our parents blown up, a 5x7 for every member of the wedding party, and a englargement for us, and a bunch for more $2000 before tax.  She works in any budget and its amazing.  It's the 3rd time my family used her and there is a reason we keep going back!

I've got two suggestions:  First, Cliff C Photography.  He's just starting out so his rates are phenomenal.  http://www.cliffcphoto.com/  My fiance and I actually decided not to go with him because when we met, he hadn't yet done a wedding all on his own.  He's been a second shooter on a bunch.  But by the time your wedding comes around, he'll have done 5 or 6. I think.

Second, we went with another photographer with a little more experience, a little more $$...but still very much within budget.  She's been great so far.  We've got our e-session scheduled for next weekend so we'll see....  http://www.lauraleighphoto.com/

    Good luck on your search!

Girls! thank you all so much for your suggestions and time so far Laughing its very much appreciated! these are all such great suggestions so far.

@ dinnaming i really like this Cliff C Photography i am definately going to contact him he actually does have a wedding on his face book page.  I like the idea that he is kinda starting out only being he will put his all into my wedding and do what it takes as the work he does backs his future in photography.  My sister did this same thing and her photographer has exploded in business. and she paid $1700 for her wedding and an additional $250.00 to have her rehersal diner done and her photos were amazing!

@ agilanyi i really like these ones too i am going to look into them as well!

We highly recommend David Humphreys.  His site is www.dhumphreys.com. His prices are in your range.  We're paying for everything ourselves and money's tight, so we changed our plan to the one with all edited pictures on discs with rights and 8 hours of coverage for $1,250.  I agree with you about the big places...you don't know who's going to shoot your wedding.  Good luck.

    Erin McGowen from http://fifthavenuephotography.com/.
She shoots out of her house in Toms River. She is REALLLLLLLLY affordable and has a ton of wedding experience. We had already booked our photog. when we met her. We could have lost our deposit, booked her most expensive package and still saved money. Too bad she was booked for our wedding day. She did our e-pics and they are amazing!
