Out of Town Welcome Bags

Hello Knotties!!

We will be having quite a lot of out of town guests.  I want to make them welcome bags, however I am not sure what to include in them.  We are having a Saturday 4 pm wedding....the guys are all playing golf the morning of, and we are planning a Sunday morning brunch.  So there isnt much time for sightseeing.  We are getting married at Seaview in Galloway, so its not far from Atlantic City.

So I guess I have a two part question...what do you include in the welcome bag and any ideas for the ladies the morning of....I know we will have to start to get ready around 1, but would like to do something in the morning for the people who dont want to golf.

Thanks ladies!!

For the OOT bags you can make them Philly/NJ themed.  For my first wedding (I am a second time bride now) I did OOT bags.  Went to the tourist centers in Philadelphia and picked up a bunch of brochures and maps.  Bought packs of tastykakes, herr's chips, bottles of coca cola, salt water taffy and a few jersey peaches.  I forget what else was in there but I tried to do all things from the area.

I was going to suggest the same thing as the pp. I'm also going to include Hershey products and carmel popcorn from the shore. You can also do Philly soft pretzels as well, but they might get stale and Slim Jims are also from Philly.

I agree w/pps in including local things like Tastycakes.  Other things to include may be packets of advil or tylenol, bottle of water, and other snacks.

For the girls for Saturday morning, what about going for spa treatments?

We are also doing OOT bags. If you want to keep it a Jersey theme and making a trip to the beach you could look for salt water taffy. Since you are close to AC they also have chocolate covered casino chips or dice that might be cute.

For the ladies that aren't golfing maybe you could do a spa morning or nice breakfast. I wouldn't plan too much so that no one is rushing around the morning of.

I am doing a combo of Philly and South Jersey things.. My FI and his family are from South Philly so pretzels are a must and I have found a way to keep them fresh. Wrap them in wax paper then foil and put them in the freezer for the day before you make the bags and by the time your guest get the pretzels they will be ready to eat!!!!! We are also doing menus from around the area so if the people would like to go out and eat they can go out and eat. Plus tastykake, some chocolate from Hersey then a mix of the Jersey shore like Shrivers Salt Water Taffy from Ocean City, and lets not forget Johnsons Popcorn!
