Florist: Cape Winds in Cape May A+ - I met with Debbie in May and clicked with her almost instantly. She was quick to point out what flowers were too expensive for my budget and offer alternatives. She was willing to go outside the "wedding" box and use a good amount of greenery as well as flowers that some other florist consider too "low class" for weddings. She also does silk and did the ceremony flowers, FG pomanders, my bouquet (at the last minute, it was going to be real), and my toss bouquet all in silk. Everybody though they were real until they touched them.
Ceremony and Reception Site: Seaview Resort and Spa in Galloway A - We met with Jessica in April to finalize everything and changed things about 17 times after that. We had some special requests regarding food and wine and they had no problem fulfilling almost all of them. The only thing they could do was acquire a specific wine my husband asked for. The food was delicious and luckily we were able to bring some home.
The cake was not the design I asked for. Since I didn't get a chance to meet with the pastry chef, I figured he just did whatever without regard to what I told Jessica. It was tasty though.
Hair: Banana's in Smithville A - While my hair was originally supposed to be more complex, the simple style I sprung on the stylist the day of came out nice. My hair didn't keep the curl by the time of the ceremony (several hours later) but I knew that was going to happen. My daughter's hair turned out perfectly considering she fell alseep in the chair. My mother's hair was the most complex since she had to involve fake hair. It lasted into the next day and, if you didn't know my mom has short hair, look like her real hair.
Make up: Jessica Ross from MAC at Macy's in Mays Landing A - She setup a little studio in my room and did a fabulous job. The make-up was perfect. The only thing is I should have bought long wearing lipstick before hand. She only had a few shades with her and none of them were dark enough. She did have the right shade in regular lipstick and gave me the tube so I could re-apply.
DJ: Center Stage Entertainment in Lindenwold A+ - We made Sean's job a bit easier by burning him CDs of music. There was a good amount of music that isn't really mainstream and my mother wanted some Puerto Rican salsa. He was good with taking requests from guests. Unfortunately, I forgot to put Lady Gaga as Do Not Play, so one of her songs got played. On the plus side, I got Sean into Norwegian Recycling.
I'm going to hold off on Photographer/Videographer reviews until I can see a final product.
