budget question

i'm just trying to figure out what our budget should look like.  we're having our reception in atlantic city.  what can i expect to pay for florist? cake? dj? photographer? video?  any help is greatly appreciated!!

I too am getting married in AC...and we're budgeting 20,000 for everything, and that's with some serious discounts of having used people before, but I believe any budget is do-able, esp. in AC.

Where are you looking/have you chosen a place?

the chelsea hotel on 10/10/10!  we're trying/hoping to do wedding on a budget!  would rather save money for our future together.  that said, i want to have just a FUN party for all our friends and family. 

what vendors are you guys using?  definitely can use any/all recommendations especially since i can't make it down there as easily or as often as i'd like or need to.

The budget can depend on a lot. It's hard to say this will cost this much, everyone's style is different. If you aren't looking for albums from a photographer and just want simple flowers than things will be less expensive. Just a rough idea photographer can  cost anywhere from around $1,200-$5,500+, DJ $600-$1,200, florist can really be all over the place. HTH's

Hi!  I am getting married at One Atlantic on November 13, 2010!  

We are using Core Productions for photography/videography both ~3500$

DJ Steve and Company ~1000$

Florist Rain Florist Ventnor NJ this price can vary sooo much depending on what you want!!  I would contact a few florists after you do some research to figure out what you want for your wedding day!

Our cake is included in our package so I'm not sure about cake pricing!

I am getting married in Galloway...not too far...I am using Paul Dempsey Photography....he's in Ventnor...i was highly impressed...he has many different packages for different budgets!!

I am still waiting to hear from my florist for a price....im a lil nervous haha!!

We are having a live band..so we paid more for entertainment than most...our band was $2500

Good Luck!!!  Where are you thinking about having your wedding??  We are having ours at Seaview Country Club....Smithville Inn is a really nice venue too....just some ideas for you!!

smithville was not an option when we were looking.  neither was one atlantic.  they weren't necessarily our first choices but since they weren't available, it made our decision easier:) 

saw the dempsey recommendation in another topic but he's not available on our date so that was easy to eliminate him.

cake supposedly is included in our package but we have yet to finalize or taste our choices, let alone make them, yet.

will check out rain forest in ventnor.  thnx, mp375.  i'm thinking our "florals" should be pretty low as we want to, or at least will consider, incorporating organic elements, such as limes, artichokes, pears, any green colored vegetation or greens, in our centerpieces/"florals."  did i mention our color is green?

We're getting married at The Sheraton in AC and here is a price breakdown for everything so far. 

Photographer:  Keepsake Studios, $2000 (includes proofs, digital and physical, albums for us, and both parents, a large print for us, and pictures for our wedding party, and photo guestbook).  THis is the 3rd time my family has used her and shes running great internet specials on her website, so look her up.  She's fantastic to work with.
DJ:  Dynamic Crew, $750-$950.  It depends if my dad can hagle him down to not charging us for the ceremony.  Once again, 3rd time we're using him and he's been fantastic.
Florist:  John from County Seat Florist.  I highly recommend him.  If you do the whole wedding with him, you get a HUGE break.  All flowers, ceremony and reception:  $1600
Videographer:  Jack Otepka, $650 for both ceremony and reception, total 8 hrs. Fully edited, chaptered DVD and all raw footage.
Cake:  Christine's Pastries, $351....I know you don't need cake, but thought I'd help ya
Invites:  Cards and Pockets...I'm doing them myself and they're under $300 total

I looked at the Chelsea....it wasnt for us and it was more for my parents cause they got married there 27 years ago when it was the International Hotel.  They kept all the architectural aspects and just retro-ed it.  It's beautiful there!
