I would love for this board to be more active! My month board is crazy active, but they are all over the place.  It would be nice to talk with some ladies that are in the area and know about the places.

I guess I'm kind of new.  I never really introduced myself - just started posting. So here are a few things:
I got engaged in July and will be getting married October 28 (9 more months!).
I am having the reception at Lucien's Manor and the ceremony at the church where I grew up and my parents got married.
I am a born and raised south jersey girl.

As for the new years resolution: I don't make them.  I try to keep small goals year round :-)

Hi Ladies!  I would also like the board to be more active and get to know some brides in the area.  I guess I never introduced myself here either, I was engaged the Christmas before last and getting married on October 9th.  I am also a Lucien's Bride like Shannon1787 and having a church wedding.  I am having an Italian Theme wedding with about 175 guests.  I feel like I have been planning forever but it's getting close now and there are tons of things to do all of a sudden!

I didn't make a New Year's Resolution either but would love to get in shape for the wedding and honeymoon.

    Hi Ladies,
I got engaged on 9-02-10 and we are getting married 12/10/11 down at Sea Oaks Country Club.

My New years resolution is to stay positive.. My FI just found out that his government job is taking us to Laredo TX .... I am the youngest of 6 children and we all live in NJ ...so this year is going to be hard for me... SO i would love to see this local board get more active to keep my mind Positive :)

Hi girls!  I am also new to the boards!

I recently got engaged 12-11-10 and we are getting married 9-15-12 at Mallard Island Yacht Club in Manahawkin.

I didn'r really make a New Year's resolution but I have to agree with col+and that staying positive is a great goal.  My FI and his business partner are parting ways which will be better in the long run but it will be extremely stressful for a while.

It's nice to meet you girls!!!

    Hi everyone!
I'm also a newbie - my FI, Glen, and I got engaged on xmas eve and we are planning a Oct 2011 wedding. Like two PP's, I am also on the Oct monthly board, which is super active. Would love to see this one more lively! We are trying to find someplace in south coastal Jersey but have not booked yet, so no date yet. We saw 4 venues this weekend, so we have lots to decide :) We have knocked out one b/c too small, now trying to decide between Natali Vineyards, Noyes Museum and Isaac Smith Vineyards. Actually, we have our hearts set on Isaac Smith, just not sure we can afford it!  Any feedback you gals have on any weddings at those sites would be super appreciated!

My NY resolution is to embrace change. I am a creature of habit, and 2011 will bring a marriage, a change of work location and a move to a new town. All things I am excited about and looking forward to, but change is always jarring for me :)

    Yay, south Jersey brides!

    Hello Ladies
Its nice to see some new faces!!!

Well I am Shakima, I was married 8.28.10. Sounds like you ladies picked some nice places to have your reception at.

Are there any questions you have so far in your plannings??

    Hi ladies!

I'm new to this board, but wish I had started looking at it sooner!  I grew up in Galloway/Absecon, but I now live in Arizona where I work for the government.  I was engaged on 9/11/10 (my birthday weekend) and we wanted to be married on 9/10/11 (booked!) and so we are going with 10/01/2011, which is much less hectic time of year anyway.

We considered the OC Yacht Club and Tomasello Winery and went with the latter.  My parents have given us a fair budget, and my fiance and I decided it was more important to us to just enjoy it, then to have to chip in as well and go somewhere more expensive.  We are eternally grateful to my parents AND saving ourselves and them some cash.  We are using Shelly Spier for flowers, DJ Jack, and undecided on photographer so far (suggestions?).  I come from an Italian family, so music and drinking and people are top priority for the wedding.  Black & white, touches of red, vintage feel to the wedding.

As for New Years, I need to tone my arms for the wedding!!  But my official resolution was to remember to mail birthday cards and thanks yous to everyone in my family & friends (living away from home makes it that much more important!!)

    <3 Ashlei
