Picked a Maggie dress - where to buy/alteration questions

I went looking for a dress this week and after going to 2 different stores I found a dress I like... its a maggie sottero dress.  I have read some recommendations on the forum for a retailer but I would like to be sure i'm making the right choice...

Which retailers would you recommend going to purchase the dress from?

Would you recommend the same retailer to do my alterations?  I am interested in making my dress alittle more of a sweet heart top... i'm guessing this is something someone can mess up if not done correctly?

any suggestions would be great!  Thanks

Which dress did you pick? (Just curious I love Maggie Dresses even though I didn't end up with one)

The Hamilton Bridal Suite has reasonably priced Maggie Dresses but I'd recommend you call around. If you know the style number of the dress you want I'd just call shops and ask them how much the dress is and how much they charge for alterations. I did that for my bridesmaids dresses - some people couldn't/wouldn't tell me the price but most did. Also some shops have a flat rate alteration fee which help you compare prices.

Also I'd check with the bridal shop because if you want a sweetheart or a modified sweetheart neckline you often can order the dress with this change already being made to it. That way you won't have to pay the bridal shop for to alter that.

I ordered my Maggie from Irma's in Cherry Hill but I'm having my alterations done by a woman that does alternations out of her home in Williamstown. I've used her for many BM dresses and know girls to use her for wedding gowns.

Let me know if you want her info, I can message it to you somehow.

I love Maggies!! Mine was Martina.

I bought at Irma's Bridal.  Best prices I found and they were very helpful.

Alterations at Fashion Stitch in Mt. Laurel.  Yeon is awesome.

I purchased my Maggie at Frannys Collection in Atco, and she also did all of my alterations.  I purchased my BM dresses, FMIL dress and my mom's dress there as well.  Love that place.

    Best Wishes

I bought my bridesmaid dresses at Franny's also and would describe my experience as nothing less than horrific. But my alterations are by Michelle Rulon is Haddon Heights. She is amazing,\ I bouth my dress off the rack at clearance and it was 4 sizes 2 big. She totally reconstructed it for $265.00, That was 4 fittings and she is impecable! She is also doing 6 of my 8 girls dresses. 856-547-2836
