Hey girls! I am going to book my venue for the reception this weekend. My FI and I were hoping for an end of Sept date but our venue of choice is booked! They have 10/8 open. Do you think it will be too cold for a beach wedding then? I know recently October has still been a warm month in the area but I am nervous! There are also many Friday and Sundays still available. Any thoughts or opinions on Friday and Sunday weddings? Thanks for your input!!

    In my experience, October is pretty iffy. I've been in a coat in the beginning of October some years, while others I'm in a t-shirt. I know that's not much help!

    You are probably going to be looking at temperatures in the sixties for early October.  If there is no wind, you probably will be ok.  As for the Friday or Sunday wedding day, I would go with Friday.  Good luck planning! :o)

    Hi BoldHart. I am getting married this September 24 on the beach in Long Beach Island and my wedding falls on a Friday. I wanted to have a Saturday wedding in October but the place we booked only had one opening left and it was a Friday in Sept. The way I see it is if people really want to go they will make the arrangments to go. Plus since it's the beach, I'm hoping people will make a weekend trip out of it. Goof luck with everything!

    Honestly, it really depends on what kind of winter we'll get. Two winters ago it wasn't that bad, so the summer didn't get hot until July and it was fall weather as soon as Sept. 1st hit so we had a short summer weather. This year the winter was bad so summer hit faster and I think that September will be warmer than last years' and October will have the nice fall weather.

    The weather this past year has been very funny. I'm getting married on a friday, plus a lot of place give a discounted rate for friday weddings. Good luck with your planning!!!

    It could be 80 degrees, it could be 45 degrees.  October is a lot like April.

    Like the other girls said, South Jersey weather is strange. It could be in the 70s one week and snowing the next. Do you think you could try mid-September? The weather may be perfect for beach wedding in October, or it could be in the 50s. It's pretty much a crapshoot.

    Most venues will give you a discount on their packages if you book a Friday or Sunday.

    Im getting married October 30th at Seaview Country Club...OUTSIDE....if its freezing they will set up a room inside but I am hoping for outside...As for Friday or Sunday...if you do Sunday afternoon it will work....a sunday evening wedding will no doubt be cut short by people who have to get up early and go to work the next day.. Good luck
