South Jersey venue help (Castle, Mansion, Ramblewood CC)

Hi there,

I've been browsing the boards for a while, but this is my first official post! I'm trying to plan my 2013 wedding and wanted to ask for some venue advice. So far I've seen the Castle Yacht Club in Delran, and I'm also going to see the Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees on Friday. Since the Ramblewood Country Club is so close to all of the hotels in Mt. Laurel (we'll have a lot of guests traveling from out of state), I thought about checking them out as well.

Has anyone been to a reception recently at any of these places? I've heard pretty good things about Castle and the Mansion, but I can't find anything on Ramblewood at all - which makes me a little nervous about them.

We're inviting 130 guests and are aiming for around $100 pp after taxes + service fees.

Any advice on the venues I mentioned and any others in the SJ area is very much appreciated!

Thanks:)

  • I just had my reception at Brigalias in Sicklerville.  It is beautiful there and their prices are great and fall within your budget.  It may be out of the way from where you are looking to be though.  Also, there aren't many hotels in the area either, so many things to think about.
  • Hello I live in Florida and have been sending requests to EVERYONE for information.I'll be in New Jersey in June and have appointments with The Elan, Bethwood , The Crowne Plaza and Brownstone. I'm haveing 75 guests and at the same price range as you. I don't know if any of these places are near you ?? The Elan let me send them a very detailed email of everything I wanted from ceremony, reception, food, drink and decoration and they were able to give me everything I wanted UNDER budget !!!!! They are on my list of first one's to visit in June.. Happy Hunting send LOTS of information requests or just go and ask questions. I'll be getting married next May and I hope I like at least one of the venues:)
  • I'm getting married at Valenzano Winery in Shamong, NJ (about 20 miles southeast of Mount Laurel).  It's really beautiful & they have several caterers you can choose from. There is no extra fee or anything to have your wedding there, but you are required to purchase a wine package through the winery which is $8-$10 per person & includes all wine for the entire night.

The caterer I'm using (Ultimate Caterers) is a little higher than your budget but I've heard really great things about the other caterers they off, & that they're cheaper.

Here's a link to their website & the caterers are listed at the bottom: CLICKY

Have you looked into Renault Winery? I can't say enough great things about them! It is so beautiful, the price is very low, and the food was outstanding!

It is under $100 after taxes!
