Whatever you Want Wednesday... QOTD 10/19/11

I will say however, that I totally thought it was Tuesday and was going to post something thought provoking.. but alas.. it's Wednesday.  I don't have any wedding stuff to AW, except that I've been married for 10 months as of yesterday.  H got another award, and he's super pumped about it (I have absolutely no idea what it was though.. stupid cell reception!)  I have lots of whines for today (Plus I'll be drinking some wine later!), but I don't want to bring anyone else down..  Anyone else got a Whine, something Wedding related, something Wacky, Wonderful, Wet?

My whine: my grad classes started again and I am so over it!!! I am so ready to be finished.  Good news I only have two left.  That's right count them 2!  So yay for that.

My wonderful: H sent me a link to a place where he wants to have a post deployment vaca! It will not be for awhile but a girl can dream right.  White sand beaches, blue water and fun/fruity drinks.  Perhaps I will just and wait for him there. HA!

Wedding related: My dear friend from college is having her bachelorette party this weekend and I am super excited.  She like myself dated most of the guys that can be found in the book "Who's Who's of Loser" but like me found a wonderful guy  treats her like a princess!  I am just so happy for her.  So, I will pull out my dancing shoes and celebrate!

Sami- congrats on the 10 months!  YAYA  for H's award!!!! That is a wonderful!

I got my wedding shoes, and I am going to AW because I love shoes and I would do this if I weren't wearing them to my wedding because they are just THAT awesome.

And they were on sale (from $89) to $17.80...that is somewhere in the ballpark of 80% savings. And free shipping. LOVE IT!!!

They don't have anymore in this color, but 6pm.com is my new best friend.

Wonderful: Boss got a dressing-down by the CEO this morning.  The awkward part was it was right in front of me, and the CEO kept asking me to confirm the lies my boss was telling, so I was in the odd position of having to politely throw my boss under the bus while still coming off as professional and taking responsibility myself for things that aren't really my fault, but I have to at least pretend that I'm not just saying my boss is not doing his job.  Let them come to their own (correct) conclusions.  It was painfully awkward, and I have a headache because of it, and my right eye is twitching.  However, it was nice to see the CEO can see that my boss is a moron.

Wedding: My videographer had this whole big meltdown this summer - we paid everything up front to get a 10% discount, but then my Mom saw the charge on the credit card and forgot what it was for and told the credit card company it was not a charge she had made, so they cancelled it.  She realized very quickly, and I contacted the videographer in July to get it sorted out.  He's been unresponsive since then, which I chalked up to him being busy with wedding season.  Late September, he sent an email saying, "This will mess up my reputation with PayPal, so I have two choices: I can try to fight it and tell them it was your Mom's fault, or I can just have you re-pay and hope my standing is still good with PayPal.  I must think more on this."  And then he hasn't responded to emails since!  So I emailed him basically saying, "Look, I know it was our mistake, and we're sorry and happy to help fix it however we can.  If you no longer can in good conscience have us as a client and feel positive about filming our wedding, then we can void the contract.  Just let me know."  And then he just sent me another invoice...?  And then sent an email saying he still wants to videotape it, that his Mom was in the hospital for a week.  Okay, I get that... but not since July, certainly!  So now I'm stuck with either going with someone who I think hates us as our vendor, since we've already signed a contract, or trying to get out of it and finding another vendor.  Ugh!

I guess that was my whine, too.  I need some wine, please!

Oh, also wine related - I'm trying to get a job at Total Wine.  I am trying to get a job ANYWHERE that will pay the bills and doesn't involve me showing up to this hell hole every day.

My Whine: I'm so overwhelmed with work. I have this HUGE project I've been working on and it's just been one thing after another that is going wrong. I was supposed to be able to go riding tonight after - except Jade (puppy dog) now has a hard lump on the inside of her incision (she was spayed just over 2 weeks ago) so now we have a vet appointment. So no riding for me :( I'm really bummed - so hopefully I can make it out for a run tonight - because I need it!

My Wonderful: FI made an amazing dinner for me on Monday night, and then I came home to flowers last night after RCIA classes!

Wedding Related: I AW'd with the invites yesterday! They are getting ordered today!! Whoo Hoo! Other than that I'm slacking with getting things. I need shoes! And my BM needs to order her dress! UGH!

Wacky: Our neighborhood is doing this game for halloween (they do it for christmas too) called You've Been Boo-ed! It's really cute and fun! I finally was included in something, or we were, so that's exciting! PLus candy is awesomeeee!

My whine: I want to be back sleeping right now, not up for work.  Even though my "up for work" is sitting on the couch in my pajamas with my laptop.  I'm tired though and want to be in bed.

My wonderful:  H got home yesterday!!!  Now I want time to slow down between now and when he deploys, because I know it's going to go by way too quick.  And my parents and our family friends are coming to visit in a little over 2 weeks!

Wedding related:  Well, that ship has sailed for us.  But we already have 4 weddings next year, so we already know it's going to be a crazy year of traveling for them.  At least we will be back on the East coast and only a 9 hour drive back home, which is where 3 of them are.  The other is in Cali.

Whine: NO whine! I am going to have an awesome day today.

Wonderful: This is a great week. I got to work from home on Monday, had an all day (but fun) meeting at work yesterday, which gave me a short day. Then I had a meeting with the girls I am going to do a halloween makeup show with on Friday night (more about that in a min.) Then today I have an adoption picnic, so I get to play with kids and hopefully match them to potential parents... THEN I get to be with Fi tonight... THEN Friday I am doing a makeup halloween show at some night club. We are doing 8 girls *YIKES!* and my makeup look will most likely be a pin up zombie and an animal look. We'll see. Anyway, I am super happy today!

Wedding: Of course, people are not RSVP'ing, and I seriously am about to not care at all about it. So there! :)

Yay dnbeach!!!!  Enjoy your time with your hubby, and try to remember that when he leaves again, it's just that much sooner until he's home again for even longer, right?

We just got an email this morning from FI's best man who lives in San Diego.  He got engaged a few weeks before us, and apparently they have decided they don't want to wait any longer and don't want the pomp and circumstance, so they're getting married in a beautiful outdoor location in mid-November and going out to a restaurant after to celebrate.  No muss, no fuss.  We're invited to attend, but they're not sending invitations.  I honestly can't say I blame them - they're paying for it themselves, they just want to be married, and they're hosting immediately family and very close friends (~30 people total will be in attendance).  FI is really sad that he can't afford the time nor the money to go out next month for the wedding.  They plan to host a big reunion party next summer in their hometown in NY, a big pool-side BBQ, but it will be right before FI's bar exam so there's no way we can go.  I mean, if you're going to hold a quicky wedding, they're doing it right, IMO!

Yeah that stinks C.  We had 4 weddings last year, including my BIL, and we couldn't go to any of them.  H was gone for 3 of the 4, and he got home the day before the 4th one, so flying there wasn't an option.  I absolutely love living out here, but I will not miss how expensive it is to fly home, and how hard it is to justify flying home.

And yeah, the bright spot of this deployment is that once it's over we will have over 5 years with basically no chance of deployment.  So we will have plenty of time to have kids and just enjoy eachother without deployment dates constantly lurking.  This year and half has been hellish with the 2 deployments and 3 underways, but we have just been focusing on the 5 years of nothing after that!

So there's the positive spin - every day that he's gone is one day closer to having 5 years without deployments!!!

    Laughing

Like I keep telling myself, every day I put up with this moron is one day closer to when I can quit and never have to deal with having this constant worry about making my next paycheck to pay rent/bills again (or at least not QUITE as much pressure as FI will have a job, too, and BAH!)

Whine: I hate the Navy right now. H just got back late last week and since then he has been flying and all kinds of crap that has been keeping him at work for crazy hours.Yesterday his plane was down so his 6am flight got moved to 1pm which meant a crazy long day. Today he sits SDO which means he has to be at work from 30 min prior to first take off and after the last plane lands... (ie he's at work today from 430 am until midnight basically.) uuuugh I'm so tired from waking up with him to make him breakfast/lunch/coffee and not being able to fall back asleep. Also, Pintrest isn't working on my computer and it's making me angry.

Wonderful: I"m so sore from yesterday's workouts. I decided to put that in the wonderful category bc it means I worked it! haha
Also, my math group got our project back and we got an A so I'm  pretty happy about that considering I didn't do much but type the thing up. :P I'm usually a control freak and like to take over group projects so I forced myself not to do that this time and it worked out!

Wedding: H wishes we could go redo it... I'm so so glad it's over with. But we did skype with his parents two days ago and they was showing us some footage from the wedding they are working on editting to give to us. So sweet! Can't wait to have it :)

Whine: My throat hurts and it hurts to talk, which makes work sort of tough. And I just set myself up for a helluva day tomorrow, including training a team member on a new technology--I hate training. Just get out of my way and let me do it faster myself.

Wonderful: I get to go to Marco Island, FL in February and H is pretty sure he can swing a few days off to join me at the end!! Sweet!!

Wedding: Racing home to check the mailbox!!! Our picture CD was mailed yesterday. Should have it in my hot little hands any day now!

Oh... I don't know what W word I can fit this post in...probably Whine: for my capstone we had to come up with a Bricolage (two business concepts merged into one) and write a paper about it. It couldn't be a business concept that already exists.
I wrote my paper without doing any research because I thought I was  awesome innovative and no one had my idea of combining a Car Dealerships and a restaurant. Guess what? they did. I just spent the last hour changing "Restaurant" with "Spa"...Car dealerships with a spa... ? Sure why not...

Can I do a Worry too? My mom texted me yesterday that I got a letter from my work (I keep my parents address as my permanent address) and she was mailing it to my apartment. I am probably freaking out over a newsletter, but wtf would they be sending me?  I'm so irrational I think it islike a "you're fired" letter... but seriously who does that?

WHINE: It's SO COLD... I don't like it and I think my town is the only one without snow and I don't mind the cold when there's some pretty snow on the ground.  It's DARK.  I need to up my vitamin D intake.  Well... it's not dark yet, but it's 9:30 and it looks like it should be 7 AM .  Craziness!  Love this state but it's crazy.

WONDERFUL:  I got to spend the whole weekend with FI!  It's so awesome having him closer (even if it is a 5 hour drive).  I'm definitely loving it.

    Nothing wedding related.

My Whine: Headache, broken computer, midterms, and a cranky car.  Blah.

My Wonderful: My FI finally called me!  I love it when he calls me, even when he's a day late. Stupid deployments.

My Wedding: My FI (who was a graphic designer for a few years) said he finally finished our StD!  He's having trouble sending the email to me, but I will hopefully get to see his inspiration soon.  I'm just so glad he's actively interested in a peice of the wedding planning.

WHINE: We are super broke, living paycheck to paycheck, because we don't have BAH yet and my hours at my job were cut. I was a week late making my student loan payment because I couldn't do anything about it until I got my next paycheck. My FI is gone on a month-long det, and the other wives don't invite me to things anymore. So I'm poor and lonely.

WEDDING: My dad unexpectedly told me the other day that they will be able to help us out monetarily for our wedding! It will help us out a lot (especially because we thought we'd be able to start saving in September when we were SUPPOSED to start getting BAH.)

WONDERFUL: My sister e-mailed me pics from her ultra sound. Baby is about 11 weeks, so it's about the size of a lime, and you can see it's arms and legs! It was SO cool! I got a little teary-eyed :)

    Thank you!!!

Gah, I met with the President, who told me it's coming in the next few weeks (beginning of November).  And I told him, "Please, please do me just one favor - let me know when you're going to do it so I'm not in the office that day.  It would be painfully awkward."  And he promised to at least email or text me that morning to tell me not to come in, or he'll give me a day's notice or something.  So I also get a day off soon - yay!  And he said, "It's always an awkward situation in this office, I don't know how you've done it this long, to be honest."

I told him how good it was to at least know that they know how miserable it's been here.  Thank goodness!

C- it really is.  I hate being in the office on days like that.  I was one called into HR to give my account of how my old boss would treat people.  Talk about awkard, I was working in different department at the time and had moved on.  I ran into this person in the parking lot as I was leaving from giving my account.  I didn't really know what to do.  So I just looked at the ground.

Whine: None.  Other than I am still at work with 8 more patients to come back when they are schedule til 4:30.  The 3:00 patient is still in the waiting room. Blah.

Wonderful: I'm currently off of school for 3 weeks and I am lovin' all the free time I seem to have.  I'm really loving life and the fact that I can actually think about other things than school!

Wedding: We looked at wedding bands and registered this weekend.  I also ordered all the cardstock I need for our invites that I am making.  Lastly, I'm going with my Matron of Honor to order her dress this weekend.  It feels so good to get this stuff out of the way!

Whine: The ladies I am close with here all bailed on our bowling night. :( I'm bummed but my next text was H telling me he will be gone next week, so it'll be nice to have another night with him.

Wonderful: (1)  I took our Dog to the vet this morning to get an Xray- She messed up her left hip/knee a couple weeks back. After her 2 week rest period and pain meds she was still limping off and on. The vet did a quick exam, found out it was her patella ligament, it had slid to the side of her knee. He pushed it back in place, no vet visit fee or Xray. Saved us some serious $ and we finally know what the heck was going on with her. :) Win-Win
    (2) It's been chilly here so H and I snuggled all night

Wedding:....ummm we've been married 4months and some change?!? We watched our wedding vid last weekend and it made me wanna do it over again. I had a blast and it went too quickly!

Whine: I'm sick of always feeling tired. It doesn't matter how much sleep I get, I feel like I'm always dragging all day. It's not getting any better, and it's annoying me.

Wonderful: I'm going to see Beauty and the Beast (the travelling Broadway-type show) tonight! I'm a huge Disney fan, and that was always my fav movie, so I'm super excited. I'm also excited 'cause it's going to be a mother-daughter night, and it's been a long time since I got to do that.

Wedding: It's my sister's bachelorette party weekend!!! We're going to New Orleans, and I can't wait!!! I'm also freaking out slightly because I have sooooooo much left to do to pull it all together. Eek!
