any good significant other sites out there?

hey guys :).

i moved out near pendleton to live with FI, and i don't know a soul out here! we don't live on base, so i'm having a hard time adjusting to my new life out here. im a social butterfly, who has never had a problem finding a job... until i moved here :/.

now, im friendless (locally, anyways), and jobless. i've gone on a ton of interviews, that i thought have gone really well, and i end up not hearing anything back. its so frustrating. i need to network... badly.

i was on MSOS once, but i got banned permanently. it was a ridiculous situation that didnt even involve me, and caddy women ended up teaming up against me and taking outrageous action. some support system. anyways, i know how forums work now... and i need the support system more than ever. any help is appreciated :).

thanks ladies :).

Welcome to the board and to California! I know it's hard trying to adapt to a new place. Luckily, FI is stationed 30 minutes away from where I live (Pendleton as well) so I haven't experienced moving somewhere new...yet. Just keep your head up and I'm sure you'll find a job and people to hang out with in no time! Good luck!

I dunno if you have to have a USAA membership but H just facebooked me the below website which seems to be similar to the knot, and the nest.... I think this may be helpful

    https://www.usaa.com/inet/ent_blogs/Community?action=communityhome&comm=milspouse&adid=sm_fb_milspouse

Otherwise I would consider looking into Community Education classes for things you are interested in. They have them for things like cooking, photography, dancing, fitness you name it! I would also try going to your cities rec department and see if there are softball, vb or any summer leagues that are short players. I joined a summer softball league last summer and didn't know a soul, I ended up making new friends and had a BLAST!

    I HTH!

I'm at Pendleton too (with FI), and I met all my friends on MN, believe it or not. There are lots of non-wives.

A good online support site is militaryissuedgirlfriends.com. It says girlfriends but there's many, many wives there too. I don't have too much advice for meeting locals though.

thanks ladies!! i'm contemplating signing up for some classes... but i'm debating whether or not its a good idea to be in school right around the wedding! decisions, decisions.
