Ushers non military

So my FI's side of the party is all military.
Fi is in class As and the rest in the B's.

Now for the ushers. I really don't want to do tuxes because they are my brother's teenage kids. Could we do vests and ties? In black? Should we use bouteneers?

Our colors are peacock. Royal blue, green, black, silver, and next to no purple. If that helps anyone

You can do whatever you want. Shirt and dress pants with a kickass tie in your wedding colors might be fun.

Maybe you should add a few more colors Kendall?

Kendall- I love the look of vests and ties. I even love the look of just ties. I tried to steer H in that direction but he didn't really want it.

Do whatever you want. No one will really even notice people's outfits.

Agree with PPs.  I don't think many people would notice.  You could do some super spiffy ties or you could have one wear a blue tie, another a green tie... etc... just ideas... but I'm sure whatever you pick will be fine.
random note:  I did someone's nails the other day at work and I did a peacock feather design.  It was neat!

Also, all military members should be in the same level of uniform, as the uniform is supposed to be "uniform". (I know, novel concept, right?). So if your FI will be in A's, then so should the groomsmen. B's would then be too casual.

C- I was going to say that, but I figured that the concept would be lost on her.  Besides, I'm sure she found a picture on google where someone did this, so it's okay.

    Yes Kendall, It was sarcasm.

It wasn't my idea it was FI's. His side of the party I am hands off. The only guys I have a say in is the ushers. I had no idea that it couldn't be A's and B's

That would be like your FI wearing a Tux, and his GM wearing khaki's and button downs.  Or you wearing a super formal dress, and your BM's wearing denim skirts and tank tops.  My H wore his Dress Blues, the GM that was AD wore his CG Dress Blues.  FIL wore his Dress Blues.  The other 2 GM wore Tuxes.  The point of uniforms is uniformity.  Even if GM are in different branches or civilians they need to be in the same equivalent of your FI.  If he wants to stand out (I'm just assuming since he wanted them in different uniforms) then he should tell them not to wear any uniform and to rent tuxes or suits, though I'm sure he'll stand out considering he'll be the groom.. standing next to the girl in white..

Except if they were civilians, there would be no uniform regulations and they'd be welcome to mix formality of dress. I've seen the vest on groomsmen, tux on groom and it looked really sharp. However, it is inappropriate on uniforms.
