Rank belongs on something formal, and really should only be included if you're having a military wedding. We had a wedding that had subtle touches of our respective branches (small flags in our decorations, chocolate lollipops with Navy and Marine Corps seals), but since we didn't have the full fledged military pomp and circumstance, we didn't put our rank on anything.  Good Luck!!

I don't think STD are the place for ranks. We would have put them on the Invites but FI is being promoted the DAY before the wedding. (I am thinking about sneaking a congratulations for his promotion in the programs though)
