Military Brides

Who wants to help me with Move.mil? :D *Bribe included!*

I'll even bribe you with cookies :) H was able to get a hold of the office, faxed over all the forms so as of tomorrow I should be on his order for his/our next PCS.

Someone/anyone want to help me set up my move on Move.mil? :) H will be there to help unload but apart from that he is very hands off (wants me to get use to doing it myself) which is fine but for the first move I am going to need some help!!!

Please and Thank you in advance for any help and/or advice!

From what I have heard, the site is pretty fail-proof and just walks you through step by step.  I really hope that's the case, because I'm going to be dealing with almost a whole command going through a move very soon, and I have yet to use the system myself.

<div>Yeah, I started a new position (which I really don't want to broadcast on here JIC- but PM me if you really want to know) that sometimes makes me cringe when I think about the idiocy on here.  You'll have to let me know how the website works though.  </div>

Apparently the DOD created a site (<a href="http://www.move.mil/home.htm)" rel='nofollow'>http://www.move.mil/home.htm)</a> to handle moving, whether it be Personal move or Entire house. I am still unfamiliar with the different kinds (H went to a seminar on base about it). The idea I guess is you create an account, entire the start and end location and when you want movers to come and drop of the items etc. it goes off into DOD cyberspace takes 3 weeks to process but suppose to work well.

I can help! I was one of the testers for that site when it was first being rolled out back in 2008.

Your H will need to be the one to initially set up his move.mil user account, because he is the servicemember. Once he gets his password emailed to him after his account is set up, you should be able to log in for him and work through the screens together.

I have a helpful PowerPoint that helps answer many questions servicemembers have in regards to Household Goods moves. Some of the information won't apply to you (I have phone contacts for the Miami area in there, but if you need POCs at the Personal Property Shipping Office where you're at, I can try to find them for you). Just PM me your email address and I'll send it right over.
