Engagement Pics

I fly out to visit FI in about 2 weeks. While I'm there we are getting our engagement pictures taken. We've decided to get it done on the beach where he proposed, right before sunset. I think I have my outfits narrowed down, but I'm horrible at making decisions when I have too many options. So what do you ladies think of these options? Style? Color choices? Feedback ladies :)

Outfit #1 - Light colored jeans with a plain coral/pinkish t-shirt
Outfit #2 - White shorts with a black off-the-shoulder shirt with ruffle-type short sleeves

I know it's hard to picture the outfits with no actual pictures, but I'm at work, so this is the best I could do :) I want to keep it somewhat laid back since it'll be on the beach. Opinions? Other ideas?

Why not wear both outfits? Change halfway through... many people do that.

Whatever you decide,I want to suggest wearing timeless outfits. In 20 years you don't want to look back at your pictures about be like "What on earth was I wearing?"

Agree with the timeless thing. I wore dark jeans and a coral sweater with flats, then took that off (had a tank underneath) and wore a black blazer and heels. So I had two totally different outfits that I could change thanks to layering. Something to keep in mind if there is no place to change. Accessories help too, very easy to change it up.

I changed half way through- in the mdidle of downtown Pittsburgh! It can be done.

I wore a dress and then white shorts with a navy blue tank top.

I agree with PP see if your photographer will let you have two outfits.

If not, I vote for the first outfit or something similar to it.  Or possibly a nice sundress.  I know you said you want laid back, but a flowy sundress would look really cute on the beach with the sunsetting IMO.

Thanks! I do plan on wearing both outfits and changing halfway through. I want them to be simple and "timeless" like you said so that in 50 years I'll look at them and won't be thinking WTF lol I think these outfits are pretty basic and it's definitely nothing fancy. Just trying to figure out if these will be good outfit choices for the type of location and time of day.

I say both.  We didn't do an engagement session but most of the ones I have seen people change outfits for different locations.

I agree on doing both. I wore 3 outfits and I loved the variety in pics

I thik he's going to wear jeans and a either a white button down or white t-shirt for one outfit, and then a pair of nice shorts and some other shirt for another. I figure it'll be pretty easy to pick out his outfits lol He's not too picky.

Yeah, the guys have it easy. :)
We did a casual and a dressy outfit

I think your outfits sound great! My only concern would be a light wash jean since they tend to be less flattering than a darker wash, but I'm bias because I don't ownb a single pair of light jeans.. Too insecure for them!
I like your choices. Can't wait to see how they turn out!

Thanks so much for all the input ladies!! Firsttimer - That's a good suggestion. I'll try on the outfits and see if maybe a darker pair of jeans would look better. I have a couple pairs of lighter jeans, but I'm not talking acid-wash jeans light or anything lol But my mind was thining that a lighter pair would match the beach scene. I'll give your suggestion a try though! I'll post pics when I get back! 16 days until my butt is sitting in a window seat on my way to sunny California :) Woo!!

Envious of you heading to California! Where are you headed (sorry if you have already told us... I fail in that case)

I have a horrible memory, so you're not alone there lol I'm heading to Oceanside - about an hour north of San Diego - where FI is stationed. Every November I fly out for the Marine Corps ball. It's going to be a busy and exciting visit! Very excited :)
