AW: Bought my dress!

I just passed the 9-month mark for time until my wedding, and it made me feel a little panicky because every bridal salon has said something along the lines of "Oh, you'll want to order your dress at least nine months in advance..."

Yeah, I know I could have waited another month or two and been fine, but I was ready to get it crossed off my list.  It ended up being an easy decision.  I fell in love with a too-expensive dress a couple months ago, and I found one yesterday that's very similar at a third of the price.  So I bought it!  Anyone care for (bad) pictures?

    I absolutely love it!  I think the sash covers the beautiful back of the dress, though - I'd recommend having whatever sash you go with sewn onto the dress so it doesn't have those long ribbons covering up the beautiful back. 

    Have you thought about jewelry yet?  Or how you're going to do your hair?

    I've thought about it some, and I realize I'll probably change my mind a zillion times over the next few months, but I'm thinking I'll wear earrrings and bracelet and skip the necklace.  I've been wanting to wear sapphire jewelry, since I love sapphires so much and royal blue is one of my colors, but I'm going to have to wait until I've picked a sash before I decide.

    Hair:  no veil, ribbon headband (like the picture below, but probably simpler), and half up with loose curls.




    And here's a picture of FI and me from a wedding we went to this summer.  I want my hair similar to this, but not quite so curly:

    Thats beautiful! I love it!!! I agree with cali about the sash, maybe see if you can get it sewn or tie it on the side that way you aren't covering the detail on the back. Yay for getting a dress!!!

    Beautiful dress! I love the sash on it! And I love the hair style you chose :) I definitely don't think you ordered your dress too early. When you find something you love, buy it (unless of course you're 1 or more years out).

    YD - thanks!  I think I ordered at just the right time.  Now I just have to be good and not browse dresses anymore.

    haha I bet. I struggle with my arms, so I have arm envy with almost everyone >_< lol! That's what I get for having a bigger bust area.. oi.
    The dress really looks fantastic on you, though. That's awesome that you held out and found one for a third the price! loooove it. :) I got a great deal on my dress too, and it kinda makes you love your dress more doesn't it? To know you got such a good deal? :]

    The price definitely made the decision easier, that's for sure.

    It was one of the first dresses I saw when I walked into the shop.  We didn't even check the price before I put it on, so when she told me how much, I was like "done."

    I really like that dress on you!  It looks great. 

    I also love the headband!  I thought about getting one, but I don't think I like it with the hairstyle I want.

    I think it totally depends on the dress.  Since yours had a lace overlay, it looked fantastic and didn't take away from the style of the dress.  With Elle's dress, it has so much going on down the back that I think the long sash would take some of the attention away from the detail on her dress.

    I haven't decided if I'm doing long sash or sewn on yet with mine.  I'm going to wait until I get it and try it on with the dress to decide!
