Aww, thanks guys!  I hang on the August 2012 board, and rings is their November siggy challenge.  My photographers took some great pictures, but they're far too small for a siggy!

I'm kind of a big fan of my ring, too!  FI and I went ring shopping together, but he's the one who selected it - I at first said, "No, honey.  That's a square halo, and my diamond is round.  Besides, I don't even want a halo."  The jewelry store owner told us that it was actually made to fit a round diamond (we had my great-grandma's engagement ring to re-set).  So FI put it on my finger, and that was it!  There was no other ring for me.  Luckily it ended up being about half of what we were looking to spend.  Double yay!

I love the halo too!! But H picked mine out all by himself and he did a pretty spectacular job so I'm not complaining. But if (excuse me, when) I get myself a right hand ring, it will be a halo. Love that slightly vintage look!!

Haha, that's okay.  I never had to learn the "Three C's" of diamonds since we already had a family stone, so when I got my appraisal, I had to google everything on it practically.

I didn't want a halo originally because the stone is a bit big, and I'm really not a flashy person so I wanted a more subtle ring.  I was afraid the halo would make it look gigantic, and it kinda does, but it just was my ring.  Everything about it I loved, especially how comfortable it was right away on my finger.  Other rings I had tried on felt weird and bulky or scratchy if it had side diamonds, but this one just felt natural.

I agree. I also felt like you Cal when looking for a ring. We went looking before he went to basic just for fun. We went to 4 places total and I could not find one I liked they were too small, the stone was too high, etc. The last place was Zales and my ring is totally my dream ring so I was relieved haha

C-I've already told you how much I love said ring!

Am I the only one who picked out her ring? I mean like, I said "This is the style I want, what size center stone you put in it is up to you, I want that style/band."

Sami I didn't but I'm a suuuper plain jane kinda girl.
I love all rings, but my ring is definitely what I wanted... I think I would be too afraid of losing a little stone with the way I treat my jewelry lol

My E-ring band has lots of small stones, and I inspect it allllll the time.  I'll take my e-ring off, but not my band.. I'm lame like that.

I totally picked out my ring. I was with H when we put the deposit down. I also helped pay for it though too. We are so non traditional, but the way I looked at it is, I made a lot more money than him at the time, and why should he go bankrupt for a ring while I just hoarde my money.

I pretty much did. It wasn't like a walk into the store and say "buy that", but I told him from the beginning that I wanted a three-stone ring in white gold. The only part of my ring that surprised me was the channel-set diamonds in the band. I love it though.

Sami- I told H want I type of cut I wanted, the metal it was set in and the width of the band.  I am a simple old school type of person when it came to my ring.  He went with what I wanted.  I didn't pick out the ring but give him the specs needed.  :)

I mean, I was a big part of selecting my ring - I knew what ring it was before he gave it to me (but I hadn't seen my family diamond set in it yet, so that was cool).  But he's the one who picked it out - I thought I wanted something totally different.
