It IS fraud if you got married, are colleting BAH, but not living as a married couple. That's fraud. And the military doesn't like it.

Ok so I know I'm a little late around here but I've been super busy for a few days. My take is pretty much the same, if you've been through some extreme ups and downs and are sort of starting fresh, go for it. Simple, meaningful ceremony sounds romantic. However, I don't understand planning a VR as your 'real wedding'. I think it's okay to have your small ceremony/JoP whatever, then in a year have the big reception celebration(as just the party) but renewing your vows after a year or 5? AW. point blank. You've been through it, you meant it, so it's just going through the motions of it for the sake of others seeing it. My idea? Record your JoP ceremony and show the video at your reception/celebration to look back and give everyone who wasn't there a front row seat.

Why anyone would go out of their way and spend all that money for a full blown VR as their 'real wedding' is beyond me. Isn't it awkward enough to have all eyes on you as you speak your most heartfelt and important words of your life to your SO? I wouldn't want a repeat of that in a year(or 5...).

[QUOTE]Wow, I am certainly glad all of my guests are more accepting and understanding than the majority of the people on this forum! Just because something doesn't work for you doesn't mean it's not right for someone else. I thought I'd find some like minded people here, but I really just found more reasons to not associate with other military wives, especially not in groups. You're just way too judgemental and sactimonious. All I ever see on here is brow-beating and God help anyone who tries to offer alternate options.  And you don't have to bother responding to this. I won't be reading it. I'm done with this forum.

You apparently care wayyyy too much about what people think. If I cared I wouldn't be having one but I don't so I'm doing it my way
Military Brides December 2011 Siggy. Holiday picture with your SO. We suck and don't have one :/ Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter.
