Gift for fiance for transferring to a base closer to me : )

Hello everyone,

I realize that this isn't exactly a wedding topic, but I knew you ladies would have some good ideas for me ; )

After almost 2 years of being in a long-distance situation (about 18 hours apart) with my fiance, he FINALLY got his transfer to a base close to me (not close enough to live together, but at least close enough for weekend visits)!!!!! : D

This is a huge move for him, away from his friends and military family that he has been with his whole time in the military pretty much, and I want him to know how much I appreciate the sacrifice he's making for us! I was trying to think of a way to help him adjust to the new place when he moves, especially since I won't be able to be with him throughout the week, only on weekends. And I also wanted to get him some kind of gift for being so wonderful : )

Ideas, please???

Make him a sweet basket of things.. Like local wines or beer (whichever he likes) , if he is a big hiking guy, by a book with local hikes so you guys can plan to do something fun on the weekends together. Know any video games or tv series coming out that he wants/would enjoy? Add those in to keep him busy during the lonely nights ;) And maybe a couple silly kinky things (if you guys aren't shy about that stuff). Guys always appreciate that stuff :P Maybe add in silly things like his favorite chips or cookies (homemade is always the best), maybe some items that are specific to your area (for example, I'm in Seattle, so smoked salmon is all over and always makes a good gift).
    GL!

Thanks for the input! : ) The local goodies are a good idea. I'm in MS, so pepper jelly/sauces are pretty big here, so I think I'll add some of that to the gift basket. What do you think about like the little travel pamphlets that you can get for a local area that tells different things to do in town? I thought about trying to find something like that to add in there too.
