How was your weekend?

Hey everyone! Did anyone do anything fun this weekend?

I mostly studied and did schoolwork, but I got to see some friends that I haven't gotten together with in a while. I tried to catch up on laundry and still have quite a bit of cleaning to do. Also, I was so proud of myself for waking up early to go to the grocery store and then when I tried to buy wine they wouldn't let me. Apparently you can't buy wine before 10am on a Sunday in Ohio. Lame!

So when did they get rid of the response box at the bottom of the thread?  I went to OCS prep this weekend.  It was intense and I pretty much hated it while it was happening but, now that I look back, it was a ton of fun.  They had 4 SI's (like DI's but they call them SI's at OCS) and 2 PTI's (physical training instructors come up.  That's what really made the weekend challenging.  I loved it though and I'm dying to get selected even more than before.

Irh, At least you can buy alcohol on a Sunday.  They don't sell it on Sunday at all in Pennsylvania Laughing

  • Haha, I guess I'm lucky after all!  Glad you enjoyed OCS prep Sammy.  I really hope you get selected!!

TK is changing up all kinds of things on us.  Apparently the quote button is now the 'reply to this post' button.  I also have a button at the bottom of your post that says 'Ignore Sammy0709'.  Has that always been there? And what does it do, lol?
  • I know the ignore button was there on TN but I'm not sure about TK.  I've never used it but I have been under the impression that if you were to press it then you would no longer see posts from that user.

  • I want it back to the way it was: quote box, medals for posting, etc.

My weekend was eh. I did homework and studied. I'm watching Army Wives right now. I'm in such a bad mood though. My older sister is at it again. She's skipping my shower back home because her school has their big drunken fest basically. My mom's put a lot of effort into my shower and despite my sister acting this way I'm really excited.
  • My weekend was eventful (see AW below). Besides that my friend who was here is an awesome organizer, so we went through and organized my closet and house. Well, she organized, I tried not to be too useless. She also brought her Dyson, so now my carpets are ridiculously clean.

I had a little bit of a WR breakdown last night, I think it was mostly that after my friend left, the house just seemed so empty. I don't have a lot of people who are excited about the wedding, and I know no one will ever be as excited as I am, so I've pretty much snapped out of it. Looking forward to going to MS in 2 weeks to actually see my reception space and the church since the renovations have been done.

  • How was my weekend? HOW was my weekend?

Well I almost got blown away by a tornado

this guy is litterally 2 miles from my apartment. My work told everyone to go home early...but I am the only one that lives 1 hour south.... so Luckily I stopped and turned around..because if I would have not called my parents to see about the weather I would have been at that exact exit around the time of the tornado.

Then my weekend was a complete shitshow with the shower flop and bachelorette party. But it has gotten better, and we are FINALLY going to see the Hunger Games tonight (the tornado sorta blew out the power for the theater on Friday) FI and I have been busy busy this week getting everything done. He actually went up the the AFB to get the alcohol that he ordered and get me new tires (my car won't pass state inspection with the current tires...ehhh!!) while I get evertything done here...

=) Weddings are a lot of work.

  • Amanda, thank goodness you're okay!
    I hate Dave Ramsey
  • stan- that's awesome about the B-pics. I really would like to do some eventually as a gift for FI- I thought about as a wedding gift, but decided I'll save it for at least our 1 year anniversary. LOL at him thinking he's getting a playstation. I'm sure he'll be VERY thrilled with his actual gift. :)

Amanda- so glad you're okay!! That's crazy. I saw that on the news and thought about whether or not it was close to you.

My weekend- it was the last time I'll see FI before he comes back for the wedding in a month. We had a great weekend :) Friday evening (he was on his way) I went to an annual benefit shoe sale with my sister and got some of the cutest freakin shoes. I meant to take a picture of them- I will have to take a pic to show you ladies that also love shoes :) When I got back to my parent's house, FI was there. He brought me some of the prettiest flowers- an assortment of my favorites in my favorite colors. Very sweet of him. Saturday morning we finished up our premarital counseling; I really enjoyed all the sessions we did- while nothing was brought up that we hadn't already discussed, we worked on some valuable communication skills and took home some good lessons. Saturday afternoon we worked on some WR stuff, and then FI had homework to work on. I went and saw my horse, and after I got home we went to my Sister and her H's house and had a movie night. We watched The Blind Side again- a great movie. Sunday we slept in and opted to go to an evening church service. Sunday afternoon we both did homework. I worked 11p-7a Sunday night.

Monday we got our marriage license! Kind of crazy, they didn't even look at our DL's. Nothing. Nada. No ID check. Kind of scary when you think about it... anyhow, we got that check taken care of before FI left to go home. I now have answers to all my VA Marriage License related questions, so that's good :)
