Good Morning Ladies!! How was everyone's weekend?  Any Wedding related pics?  Any holiday pics?

It's the last day of my semester and I know three of my grades, and just have to take my final exam in math!! I'm excited! I think I'm going to take myself for a pedicure after school to celebrate!!!

Any plans for the week?

ETA: It's CAB & Shay's last week as single ladies!! Good Luck Ladies!! I can't wait to see pics!!

Good morning!  I had a pretty low-key weekend.  Went and did some shopping/returning at VS and got myself some more super comfy Pink sweats.  They are probably my favorite clothing items ever!  And as much as I'm ready to get a real job again, I'm going to miss working from home and getting to wear sweats all day.

I'm up super early because I have an appointment this morning and am a little nervous about it.  So once I woke up at like 5 to my phone going off there was no falling back asleep.  Luckily my appt is before 8 so I don't have to think about it too long.  It's a 6 month follow up appt for something that could turn out to be a lot worse than it currently is.  6 months ago I was good to go, so I'm just really hoping today that they say nothing has changed and I'm again good to go.

CAB and Shay- Happy Wedding Week!!!

Sami- here is to the last week of classes!

My weekend was really great.  My mom came down and we hung out.  We ate great food, had good wine and tons of laughs.  We went to look at Christmas lights and we were rolling at some of the houses.  One house tried include every Christmas tradition on their front yard.  I mean it went from Baby Jesus to Santa to the Grinch, to Frosty to penguins to a pig.  If some one could explain to the pig to me I would be ever so grateful!  It made the Griswalds look tame. 

This week I am finishing up my class and then I will hopefully have one more to take and I will be DONE!

Beach- I hope everything is okay!!  T&P's for you today Beachy!!!  FTR, I totally agree about PINK Sweats.  When I see like 13 y/o's wearing them (Usually they are like skin tight though which IMO defeats the purpose) it makes me feel like I'm too old for them.. I still wear them though!!

My weekend was full of PreCana and a few wedding things. We went to a local Tux place and they basically told us to come back in Jan, I grabbed some envelopes and I am going to print those today. Sunday I got part of my dads Christmas gift in and we went to church. Other than that it's been relatively quiet here. Finally told FMIL about the ER visit and what was going on - and you could tell she felt horrible about it, turns out his sister was still rather sick when we were there and I really do kind of want to blame her, but there isn't much I can do about it now and I highly doubt severe strep and an ear infection caused all of this.
It's really rainy here, which is great because we need the rain! But it puts me in a bummy mood and it means I can't go riding tonight

Can I just say that I love you're playing Sims Social now? Yay for a new neighbor! Haha

H and I had an awesome weekend.We did all the things we had planned.Friday night, we saw the movie "The Sitter," it was hilarious.  On Saturday, we checked out the NAS, sent out our last bit of Christmas presents, then we went to his ship's holiday party that night and it was so much fun! They had casino games, and we played poker for most of the night and I totally kicked ass and cleaned out the table by the end! We got henna tattoos, caricature, and photo booth pictures all fo free!  And OMG, so many women were "sluttily" dressed at that party, I could not believe it! I almost saw so many "hoo has!" haha 

Yesterday we went to 2 malls. The first one was a bigger mall in Norfolk that Binx has suggested to me, H and I really liked it. Then we saw the movie "New Years Eve" and it was a cute movie. We went to the other mall again and Walmart, but like I told you I couldn't find that dang mirror! H and I will have to go back another day to a different one. He's on duty again today so I won't see him til tomorrow afternoon, and he said that they'll probably go back down to 3 day duty section for the holiday stand down which will suck because I'll see him less now! Ugh

My henna tat, H got a sparrow/swallow on his chest since he's been thinking about getting a pair of them. After seeing the henna, he's seems to be a lot more convinced about getting those. He loves to show his Navy pride.

Thanks ladies!  I had H home with me to go to the original appt, so I'm a little bummed not having him at this one just in case anything is wrong.  I have friends who would have gone with me but I wouldn't drag anyone out this early.  I'm thinking positive thoughts though because it's been a stressful enough week and I want good news!  

Yay for wedding weeks!

Beach, good luck!  I've been through similar, and it sucks when there's no one there to go with you.  Sammi sent me a care package when I got bad doctor news and FI was gone - if you need some Knottie love, just let us know!  I know quite a few of us are baking up a storm right now anyway.

We did a super-duper clean of the house on Saturday.  I think Sasha thought we were moving, she was running around and wouldn't let us out of her sight.  We got the guest bathroom, the dining room, the office, and the living room done.  We still have to do the kitchen, the guest room, our bedroom, and our bathroom, so we're only about halfway done.  But it feels really good!  We threw out a LOT of stuff, and put together a bunch of stuff to try to sell on Craigslist or eBay or Amazon (old books), and we're going to have a yard sale when we're all done purging over Christmas break.  It should make moving easier in 22 weeks!!!!!

We went to a crap-tastic wedding yesterday.  Seriously, worst wedding ever.  Invitations said 2:30pm, but it didn't start until 3:30pm (and the ceremony staff told us it was scheduled for 3pm, so they tried to pull one over on their guests anyway).  They invited 70 people, 10 of which were military and their significant others and they knew NONE of these - they were invited to be part of the Arch of Swords.  Neither the bride or groom was smiling walking down the aisle or saying vows or anything.  While the bride was walking down the aisle, the groom was chatting with his groomsmen.

They made a big fuss about the military, which sort of ruffled a lot of feathers with the military guys who came because it was like they were accessories or decorations.  The usher threw a fit because the groom wanted all military sitting up in the choir pew behind the parents of the bride and groom, and the Major (the most senior ranking of the guys in the Arch) said that the wives/fiances would sit with them, and the usher said the groom wanted just the military guys in uniform up there.  Uh... okay? 

Anyway, the Major insisted, and he's intimidating, so the usher let us sit with our guys.  But the guests kept taking pictures of all the guys in uniform - more so than the bridesmaids and groomsmen!  And then we had to process out of the church after the bridesmaids and groomsmen and parents - sooooo awkward!

The Arch was super awkward, too - the guys did a good job with it, but it just felt... awkward.  Like the bride threw herself into a dip at the end, as it had totally been planned ahead of time.

And the reception had us paying $20 each for valet.  The food was pretty bad, and all they had was steak wrapped in bacon, so I'm not sure what they served people who don't eat red meat.  Fake mashed potatoes?  The spikey asparagus that cut my mouth?  I get that they might not have had a huge budget, but then why invite 10 people you don't even KNOW?! 

Anyway, it just pissed me off on a lot of levels.  Bad etiquette, bad manners, and just the fact that the military was such a HUGE part of their wedding when he hasn't been in more than 3-4 months, and has only just got out of training a few weeks ago.  I feel like it was more showboating than anything else.  I mean, if being in the military was a big part of their relationship or his identity, then I get including it.  But he just joined, and it seemed the military was a bigger focus of the wedding than the Bride & Groom, ya know?  And he acted like a tool to everyone.

Cal, that is wrong on so many levels, but I really cant get past the $20 valet?!?!?! That would have ROYALLY ticked me off, let alone being there 2 hours early. Yuck!

Hi hi friends! I'm waiting for my brother to pick up me my mom and dad for lunch. We are st his college graduation at university of south Carolina. It's cold here but he and I went for a run on campus this morning and it was fun. We are meeting his girlfriend for the first time today. I hope I like her. It's the first girl we've met since high school and he's my baby brother so I watch out for him. Beach- thinking about you lady. Sending positive thoughts, :-)

Beach- hope everything is ok! Sending good vibes your way! CAB & Shay- yay! Wedding week! So excited for you both! Cal- That whole wedding sounds extremely awkward and I'd be pissed about the valet as well. I am in a ridiculously good mood today which is odd for a Monday. I just tried calling Michaels to see about a special order I placed a few months ago. The woman helping me said "It isn't here yet." So I asked when it would be in. She says "I have no idea." I said "Well, it's been months and I need it, will it ever come in?" To which she replied "I don't know." She wasn't the most helpful lady. Also, my photographer took our engagement pictures on Oct. 6th. I emailed her at the beginning of November to ask for prices on STDs. She emailed me back on Nov 21 and said she would design and order them for me. I emailed her back saying ok and I'll send her a check and that I want a CD of all our images too. I haven't heard from her since. I just tried calling her cell, her voicemail is full. I'm extremely annoyed.

Wow Cal that wedding sounds awful! 

This week is going to suck for me. I know two of my grades for classes B and B+ yay! But I have to take my econ final tonight and I'm so worried I'm not going to do well and I'm going to fail again I have 2 finals on Thursday, first one at 7:30 am bluck. I'm just ready for this week to be over and be on break!

I'm off to a funeral, ladies.  My cousin who lives down here is the only family I have in the area, and his wife is a major sweetheart.  Unfortunately she lost her father on Saturday night (he passed away in his sleep) so I'm going to the funeral mass and then to the burial.  Always so sad!

Anyway, try to keep the crazies in line!  I'll be back either this evening or tomorrow!

Good morning everyone! I think wedding planning (Or lack of) is starting to take over my subconsious.. I had a terrible dream where I just forgot about setting up the reception, and instead of taking pictures during the  hour before the reception starts, I was setting up tables....all by myself. 

I'm also having a terrible time trying to get my bridesmaids to get together to even look at  dresses. I don't want to be the kind of bride that does this, but I am just about to make them order the dresses without anyone's opinion. 

Anyway, other than that life is good.

Oh C-That's horrible. I have never understood being that rude, and I get/like what you're saying about the military thing, from what you've said it really does feel like they were using props for their photos.

I am waiting on a package that should have been here Weds., and it's making me really nervous because I still have a few things that are shipping here USPS, and I don't want to have to stalk the mailman every time. The shipping tracker says it is in Pcola, but it's not at the post office, and they have to talk to the carrier, and I have to have a copy of FI's ID, and a letter from him stating that I can pick up his mail since we don't have the same last name yet. Argh.

We went to a super-awkward Christmas party Saturday night for the students. It kind of sucked because there was a big deal made out of it at their muster and that everyone was invited, but it was only FI and his friend who were there that were casual and re-classed, everyone else there was classed up or had graduated. And I got a lot of "who are you?" looks from people, which is always awkward. I've tried to be involved on base, but it's been difficult because most of the casual Lt.s don't have SOs here, and I'm not really welcome by the student's wives.

I sort of want everyone to wear the same dresses. I'm slightly OCD so it would bug me a bit. It will all work out, everyone has basically the same body type so I don't have to worry too much about that. We are probably just going to have to do the DB route, I believe I am allowed to have one bridezilla moment, and if I have to I will use it on  BM dresses.

So, FI texted me this morning saying he was having an exciting day and he would tell me later...I thought it  was good excitement having to do with his package.... He texted me a few minutes ago after I begged him to tell me. Not good exciting. He apparently got shocked by some power cart, and after some pain in his chest, he ended up at the clinic where he is being observed.

I have to say, I kind of agree with Beach.  I actually do suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder.. and I hate that it's one of those things that people toss around just because they like for things to be neat and orderly, or for things to be matchy matchy..  I would love to be able to walk away from my car without beeping it twice, not wash my hands 3 times before going to bed, brush my teeth 6 times a day.. It's really obnoxious to not be able to think clearly sometimes because I can't remember how many times I turned the light on and off or I can't remember actually hearing the car lock twice.  I don't think it really applies to BM's dresses, or at least in my case it doesn't..  I take Prozac everyday to deal with it, but it doesn't make it go away, it just eases the symptoms.  I know that you didn't mean anything by it Amanda, just a heads up! 

In other news: I GOT A B IN MY MATH CLASS!!! for the semester!! 2 A's and 2 B's! WootWoot!!

Happy Wedding Week CAB and Shay

For me, it's just student teaching, and taking care of what is going on with my sister. I m graduating from collegeon Sunday!  I am lookingforward to that.

Sounds like most of us are having a rough start to the week.

I'm just exhausted. But I did get some WR stuff set up.

This saturday we are going for our cake tasting! Woot!

And a week from today my MOH and one of my BM's are going to go look at vintage furniture to possibly rent for the reception. (Crossing my fingers they have some French looking stuff available and it isn't super expensive) After that I have an appointment with a seamstress so I'm taking my dress and a design of what I want done and hopefully it'll all work out!

Well that is embarrassing, I meant to type OCPD.  I had it when I was younger and with therapy I have it pretty much controlled, But I still have triggers when I get stressed.. And one of my big triggers is disorder. This is really silly and irrational but at one point I had it in my head that the dresses had to be the same length when the BMs were standing in a line....I do get how irrational that is, but sometimes my mind has a hard time thinking that it is infact irrational.  I just have to convince myself that I am being crazy.

That being said, I am actually a pretty laid back bride, and I could never go "bridezilla" on anyone. They are my sisters and my best friend I would never want people to not be around me. If it came down to it I know I wouldn't care what they were wearing, just as long as they were there standing next to me.
