Invitation Wording

My fiance is a Medical Doctor(civilian) and I am a military bride.  Our wedding will be a civilian wedding.  Should we use our professional titles on the invitations?  If so, do we put Doctor in front of his name and Major in front of mine?  Thanks.

We didn't use titles in our invitation and you don't have to since it's not a military wedding. If you chose to use yours, it would be:

    Major Guy Shaw
    United States Air Force

From a purely etiquette standpoint, traditionally the invite was always "Mr. John Smith and Jane Doe" so I guess Dr. would work, if your FI wants it. The invite could get a little wordy though, IMO.

I probably wouldn't do it but your name and title would be written as Irish said. I'm not sure what etiquette dictates for your FI but, I would use his title at the end eg. Joe Schmo, MD

All the doctors we invited we're addressed as Dr. Mrs. So and so, so I'd say using Dr. For your FI would be appropriate. But really, I think it's all up to you.
