Hmph....

Okay, I understand requiring online students to take major exams on campus…. but to make it mandatory and ONLY during a certain window of time is absurd.  Most online students aren’t “normal” students, meaning, we’re not college aged, most of us have full-time jobs or more than one, some are raising kids, some are disabled, some are living overseas or out of state, etc.

I hope I’m reading the class syllabus wrong because if not, the lack of options (every online class offered for this particular course requires campus exams) is a giant inconvenience!  And I realize that my situation isn’t as dire as others may be and feel terribly for people who just won’t be able to take the class.

It honestly doesn’t make sense to me to have online classes available for people who can’t go to college traditionally, yet implement these impossible expectations.

Sorry, I needed to vent today.

Ick, yeah!  I can understand a final exam, but once per semester is reasonable I feel.  Multiple times makes it pointless in having an online course.

What if someone out of state is in the program?

I know at my school we have online courses, and then we have hybrid courses.  The hybrid ones meet like once or twice per semester.  I think that perhaps if its a class you're already enrolled in or something you could talk to your teacher?  If it's a class you need, maybe talk to a counselor?  HTH

Well, if they didn't read the class requirements beforehand, then they're SOL I suppose =/

I read them after registering, called myself an idiot and immediately went in search of another class.  But, all the online classes without campus testing requirements had been scooped up by the lucky individuals who didn't have to refresh their page 600 times!

This is the first school (I've been to 3) where I've seen a majority of the classes offered required on campus testing...

I am in the same boat! I am completely stumped when it comes to math. It just DOESN'T stick with me. I need someone to help me and sit with me at all times to make sure I'm doing it right. I'm currently trying to find ANY school that allows me to take it completely online because I know if I have to physically be there for any exam I will automatically fail. I took my first math class 3 times before passing it! I have taken the one I currently need 2 times now and I am not going to attempt another time. It is a waste of my money and time and I need to find a school that allows me to take it completely online so someone can guide me.

I would love to take all of my remaining JC classes online so I can finish and get out of there and transfer to a 4 year. It's embarrassing how long I've been at this JC. I work full time and can only take classes at night or on weekends and I really hate giving up the small free time I have. Would rather do my classes online and possibly during work.

If anyone knows of any classes at any schools that offer completely online. I need to take PE, Political Science and 2 math classes: college algebra and whatever comes after that. Stats?

My CC offers Math classes online... I couldn't take a math class online, personally, and I'm terrible at math.  Maybe you could get a tutor?

I'd really like to take a math class online. I feel like there is less 'pressure' that way. Does yours offer it completely online?

The idea of getting a tutor makes me really uncomfortable. I don't know why, it's probably a lame reason anyway. I don't want to feel like I'm completely failing. I'd rather take online classes and have someone on stand by that can help me. I'm strange I guess. :P
