Yeah, I told DH I could handle it but, I'm not really sure I want to cause problems. He's going to have to deal with his father. FIL doesn't take what I say seriously anyway. I just wish he'd take my word for it. I may only be 23 but I've probably trained and raised more dogs in my life because I helped my grandfather train gun dogs since I was 5.

I wouldn't bring it up, but if he says it again, say, "I don't think that's funny.  These are our dogs, and we appreciate that you're willing to take care of them, but we want them both back as soon as we're able."  Then let your H give it to him straight if he continues!
