Congrats on the check! I wish I could get this check done, but with FI's summer schedule it's so tough to figure everything out.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but I've heard of a few different occassions of bad experiences outside of the resorts in Puunta Cana.  But I've also heard really great experiences with the resorts there.  Just a heads up

yeah, I don't think we're going to do much, if anything, outside of the resort- unless we decide to do a sponsored tour/excursion. I'm thinking he isn't going to want to go anywhere.... lol

I went to "said" city on a girls trip.  We loved every second there.  We stayed at the Riu resort which had about five different resorts in one. We did a zip line tour in the jungle and it was fun and the views were breath taking.  It did take about three hours from our resort to get to the zip line place but we went through a lot of really cute towns and we even stopped at the bus driver's house to see his "pet" cayman crocodile.  His children give us flowers for our hair and in turn we gave them a dollars.  I have many pictures on my facebook page of both the zip line and just the over all place.  Of course some most of them are of our resort but you get the idea.  We do plan on going back some time soon.
