Military Brides

WISHICOULD/Stan

I was talking with FI today ... Its been freezing here in MN and I told him if it doesn't warm up by the wedding I will need to borrow his coat. His response "I can't have unauthorized (or illegal-- can't remember the term he used) uniform outside! Are you Crazy? You're gonna get my fired" He was partly kidding but I know it could happen nonetheless and I laughed histerically and thought of you. :)

Awww! Yay Mr. Shan! It was supposed to rain for our engagement photos, so I was going to buy a super retro red umbrella. then I remembered anything but black was a no go. I love and respect the uniform code, but even I get momentarily saddened by them sometimes!

Oh and the sexy feet video is HILARIOUS! :)

I am going to keep an eye on the weather and if its not looking good I'll get something. I know its MN but I didn't think I would have to get a cover up, plus my dress is off white so I would have to get something custom.

Right now I am wondering WTH the last half of our RSVPs are since the deadline is tomorrow and half the WP hasn't RSVPed.

I talked to my FI about this because he is going to be in his dress whites passed the proper "season" for them. He said that it's swept under the rug for weddings.. you can pretty much do whatever you want.. but He's also in the navy wing so .. that might make a difference

<div>People may do what they "want" for weddings, but that doesn't make it appropriate. The uniform code is not different for people in the wing. I like FI in his flight suit, but he's not going to wear it inappropriately because I think it's handsome. And he's not going to wear his dress blues with the white trousers just because it's our wedding. If he wants to wear what he wants in violation of the uniform regs, he'd wear civilian attire. </div><div>
</div><div>Marines wearing the SNC/O Summer Dress Blues when they're not supposed to "because it's a wedding and it matches" is probably my number one Marine wedding pet peeve. It's a uniform. It's not specially made for you. It's made to look uniform and there are rules pertaining to its wear. Why not just drag a flag around on the ground too?! *grumbley Stan* </div>

I agree, Stan.  Uniform regs are there for a reason.  It seriously pisses me off when people think it's ok to ignore them for vanity reasons.
