Random question...

Has anyone here ever been to Nicaragua? (Cal, I'm looking at you, here...)

In June, H and I are going on a mission trip up there for his school. Since I speak fluent Spanish, they are using me as a translator, and obviously H will be doing dental work. I am really excited, but clueless as to what to expect. All I know is that we're staying at a Hilton.

Guess I am just looking for any experiences, maybe some recs on what to check out while we are there?

Haha, I have not been, but I have family friends from there!  They say Managua is quite dangerous, and I have friends who have been kidnapped there, so I'd say be very careful.  Don't walk around by yourself, and be extra super careful at night - personally, I wouldn't leave the hotel at night if you're in Managua.

I've heard the coast is beautiful and really nice, though!  Are you going to be in the city or country?

No experience here just wanted to say that's really cool you're doing a mission trip! My orthodontist does one every year

UGH! I think we will be in Managua! :( THAT SUCKS! Ok, well that just means no night life for us out there AT ALL! LOL! We will be there for 10 days! But it's a big group, and they do it every year, so I am sure they won't take us to sketchy places. (I hope, anyway.) I know they have plans to take us certain places, but I don't have the itinerary with me, later on tonight I will look at see where they are taking us. I'm about 90% sure we will be at the Managua Hilton, though.
