New Here!

Hi ladies! I'm new here for the most part. I've posted once or twice before about little things that seemed like big things before I was actually engaged or planning a wedding. Now that I'm actually engaged and I'm in full wedding planning mode I've got actual relevant questions. A little bit about our situation: We've been engaged for about 2 and a half months, and we're aiming to get married on September 29th of this year. Obviously we're kinda shooting in the dark because we never know actual dates. Currently he is at training until the middle of the summer, so I will be planning the bulk of the wedding without him. I'm just trying to figure out the basics of what I should and shouldn't do since our date, no matter what we plan or do, will always be tentative. What happens if he isn't granted leave or for some reason we have to reschedule? I know that this is a common thing with military weddings. I just want to know how to best plan for this possibility. I also feel compelled to include his mother in the planning since he's gone to keep his family in the loop. I love her, but some of her ideas are not what I have envisioned. How do I keep her informed and let her contribute without her trying to take over? I'm also in my last month of college so I'm trying to juggle graduation requirements and classes etc with wedding planning. So I've kind of delegated certain small tasks and decisions to my mother and certain trusted friends and family members. I know that its my wedding so is this an okay thing to do? I'm more so just in it for him and to actually be married to him and the party can be fun too.
I just want some outside knowledgeable opinions for how to go forward. Sorry this is so long!
