Military Brides

army wife and soldier

me and my fiance are scheduled to get married in april. but now he might have another deployment and before he gets back i leave for mine. he also is trying out for special forces in october. if it ends up with him leaving before the wedding we are going to get legally married then have the ceremony when we are both back. i know we are strong enough for all of this. we are soldiers. we are bred to handle it all right. prayers and advice are always welcome thanks-brooke

You'll probably get this from other people but you should change your name since it's your first and last name. Also you can do a JOP then a vow renewal later or you could do a JOP like do a small ceremony outside or something like that and a small reception after. Just an idea

Thank you for serving. I have several friends that are AD with partners that are also AD. I know it can be incredibly incredibly difficult, lonely, and frustrating. Well wishes are sent your way. You both must be incredibly strong for all that you do, and still have time for each other.
Are you both planning on staying in for a full 20+ or ...?

Yeah, they don't let you change the screen name. You have to sign up under a new email. But it's worth it!!! Welcome, congratulations, and good luck!

I've been AD for 15 years.  Being dual military has it's own challenges and rewards.  It's especially rough when you have opposite deployment schedules.  But it's rewarding in the sense that you both understand (at least for the most part) what each other is going through.  The best thing you can do for your relationship is always be honest with each other and yourself.  It's never going to be "easy."  But it's definitely do-able.  And if he makes it through selection and eventually goes the SF route, it will help if you have a compatible MOS.  Something that will allow you to get stationed where he does.
