Offically Official - Im a new navy wife :-)

today Is my 3 week wedding anniversary :-) Hubby is still out on workup, deployment date set for summer for 7 months :-(

Ive been thankfull for the brief days he has been and will be port during the work up, but not looking forward to the 7 months come summer time...

I have gotten my Dependant ID card, enrolled in Deeres, stickers for car for base so now i can freely use commissary, NEX etc. Hubby also says there are classes and stuff on base for navy families, so going to try and find out what the base has going on and see what i can get involved with :-)

Its kinda of weird though, even though we have been on this in and out relationship for the past year during the work up, it just FEELS diffrent now that we are actually married...:-(

He has his 2 weeks of leave prior to deployment, so we are taking advantage of seeing some family back east and trying to enjoy ourselves...We are actively trying for a baby, although it will be unlikely i'll get pregnant before he deploys, but we can hope :-)

hoping that it will get at least a littler easier, and know i just have to wait until next year to really have a life with hubby :-)

Thanks for listening - no real reason for this post, just writing to write i guess lol...

    Congrats fellow Navy wife!

Enjoy the rest of the time before your H deploys, and while he is underway, just keep yourself busy. Good Luck on TTC!

congrats for joining the navy ;) I'll be there with you in a few months, well.. on paper anyway... i already do the wives club ordeal and all that jazz.

Sometimes getting involved is great, sometimes itll drive you crazy. find a nice balance :) I'm sorry he leaves for 7 months, but at least we can be thankful that they are navy and it's not 12 like the army! :P (or 25mo for my dad in the army, ouch... )

suck up all that personal time during the two weeks! :)

Get involved on base and take advantage of every opportunity you see! Even events that seem lame can turn out to have awesome people who turn into great friends. Good luck with the 7 mo!

Can I just offer you a little advice? DH and I were also trying for a baby while he was home, and it didn't happen. I know that right now it seems like the most important thing in the world, but do you really want to spend almost your entire pregnancy alone? I thought that I could have handled it, knowing when we were TTC that he would be gone for our entire first year of marriage, but now, I'm glad that it didn't play out that way. That would have been super strange for him to leave his wife, and come home a year later to a wife and a new baby... I'm not saying that it's a horrible idea for your right now, because only you can answer that, so I hope that everything works out for the best.

Like everyone else said, get involved on base, and keep yourself busy. Congrats on your Marriage and Best of Luck!!!
