Cleaning help

Just wondering if any of you could help me out. My old cat has been getting sick and throwing up more lately and he threw up on our tan microfiber couch. It's still drying but it looks like it's not gonna stain but the smell is awful. The only thing I can think of is Febreze. FI already tried scent killer from hunting. Anyone have any ideas? TIA!

White vinegar!!! I've never tried it but someone JUST told me this yesterday; supposedly the smell of the vinegar disappears after a day. Don't know if you dilute it or not....off to google!

Sorry for spamming you here, haha but I just found an easier link--1 part vinegar to 1 part water in a spray bottle (or you could blot it I'm sure). Let air dry. They say the vinegar actually works on breaking down the proteins in pet stains, which is why it works so well. Learnd something new!

I agree with the White Vinegar, I also think if you google baking soda it will give you some tips. I use baking soda on my dogs stains (baking soda and vinegar) and it helps.

Yeah he's like 14 years old and is throwing up pretty much everyday now. It's better for him to puke on the floor/carpet because while it sucks to still have to clean it up we are required to get our carpets cleaned before move out so that's not a huge deal. FI was so pissed when he saw he puked all over our 3 month old couches.

I'm pretty sure every woman should own this book.  It's awesome! I know you already got it taken care of, but here's another option for the future:
(Obviously you would get up the mess first) Mix a quarter cup of dishwashing liquid in a cup of water and blot the spot again. Repeat. Last, apply an enzyme-based cleaner for pet stains.

Seriously, this book is the best wedding gift anyone got me, and it was actually my BFF who got it for me.  It covers everything from Spring cleaning, getting pet hair off upholstery, getting rid of water rings, gum off carpets.. Everything.

Sami, I could have used that book last week!  FI went out to celebrate his promotion in his dress blues, and we realized that was a bad idea on Halloween.  He actually ended up somehow getting black makeup on one small spot on the front of his white cover (yipes!).  He was freaking out, but I went and got club soda and gently started dabbing at it.  And then I just got a teensy bit of bleach cleaner, diluted it, and dabbed it, and it came out.  But man, I was panicking that I was going to do something wrong and ruin his cover!
