Rain, rain, go away!

Blah, another rainy gray day! At least we have plans with friends to meet at a winebar tonight. Can't wait! What's the weather like near you?? Plans for today?

Re: Rain, rain, go away!

  • Rain rain rain here too! It is really screwing with my curly (trying to be straight) hair.  Not to mention that 1/2 way through drying my hair this morning my hair dry blew so I had to make an early morning run to Wal-mart.

Tonight is Wine Wednesday for me as well.  OH and of course Dallas is coming back on tv tonight.  I am working today.  It is a little bitter sweet since I had to have the "we are PCSing" talk with my boss.  It sucked just a little since I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job.  The move is still a couple of months away but I wanted to make sure that we have time to get someone in and get them trained.

  • I have not posted on the "book" yet since we are still telling family but is looks like we will be heading to Seattle WA.  This southern girl is going to be living on the west coast in rain. H has not gotten the official written orders, so it could change but the chances of that happening are pretty much zero since he was requested by name to fill this position.

I swear that ever since I got word it has rained here every day!!! I mean it is like a nasty joke.

    Hi!!

I swear it rains at least once a day here. Florida? Sunshine State? huh? It will be sunny on one side of the parking lot and pouring rain on the other. Strange.

After being on our honeymoon... I am having a hard time wanting to do anything this week. After embracing the beach lifestyle of letting my hair do it's thing, no makeup, fruity  (alcoholic) drinks with breakfast and wearing a swimsuit as underwear everyday. Going back to H being at work for 12+ hrs a day and me having 200 emails in mywork  inbox really stinks.

On the bright side.... The THUNDER are in the NBA finals and beat the heat for game one.

  • GO THUNDER! I was worried after watching part of the first half....beat the Heat! Amanda, I totally know what you mean about getting back to the "real world" after such a great vaca. It took me foreverrr, I was pissy for a good while!

Haha Crown, I'm not trying to laugh at you but can you imagine the hair struggles in Seattle??? H loves that area and I could do a few years there, frizz and all.

Yeah no doubt.  My cousin lives there (curly hair as well) and she says that she has pretty good hair days.  I have side eyed that comment for years now.  HAAAA Yeah I am like it is only a couple of years and what an adventure.  Oh and I have already gotten the name of a great hair person. HAAA

Yea, H jokes that I can't watch the games, because when I do, we lose...but if I fall asleep or go to the kitchen we make a comeback/win. It is strange.

We were driving back from the Keys and stopped in Miami  on the day that game 7 was being played. (This was just an overall bad idea. FYI $170 for a hotel in Miami Beach gets you a dirty Days Inn with hair painted to the wall.)  But we thought we might be able to watch the game in a bar with a bunch of Heat fans and have some fun.  Yea, no one was even watching the game where we were.  It was a little weird.

On the really  strange side, we talked with a local that used to ride the bus with the man that got his face eaten off...

I'm like still on Hawaii time and for some reason hit snooze then my alarm never went off again. I woke up at 11:45. I meant to go into work at like 10. Oops. At least my boss lost my vacation sheet and had it in her head I'm gone for 2 weeks. I'll just go in this afternoon.
  • Amanda, one of the guys I work with and his FI go to Florida every year on vacation.  he said it almost always rains every single day.

  • Zim - Yea, Hawaii would be really hard to come back from, you almost need a vacation from your vacation when you get back. How was Hawaii? Amazing?!

Sammy - NO JOKE! Ha! We get rain everyday where we are. It is always a little after dinner time....Always when I want to just go to the beach.  But when we were in the Key's it did not rain hardly at all...or at least it always rained in the middle of the night.

  • It was amazing. It was so nice to not have to worry about anything and just relax!
  • I miss rain. It's so freaking hot here. It's getting up into the 90s and then in the afternoons and at night we have these incredible 40+ mph gust winds. You think that must mean rain, but nope, just windy hot air.

FI and I have managed to go to the gym every day for over a week now. I'm pretty proud of us. Of course he goes every morning anyway, but I really like when we go together, we push each other harder.  I'm really tempted to hire a personal trainer through the wedding so I can be sure that I'm doing everything right, but it's just a lot of money.

About to go pick up Father's Day cards and a card for my Dad's birthday (the day before Father's Day, this year). I really hate these cards because they are all about golf and grilling. Neither of which is something either mine or FI's dad do. Argh.

  • It's rainy here and 48 degrees!!!!  It's been like this for 2 days!!!  It should not be cold anymore, but that's Alaska for ya... boo!!!  FI left for a training today and he moved out of his house yesterday to a smaller place and I'm cleaning his house, luckily it's not bad and he left me a 4 pack of Starbucks Frappuccinos!!!  But it's almost too cold to drink them!!!

Divine- I will trade you this weather for your hot weather!! LOL Deal? maybe?

and yes GO THUNDER!!! So excited they've made it to the finals!!!!

  • Divine- Houston's not much better right now...it seemed like it might rain, but then didn't :/ and my GOODNESS!!! If the wind gets any hotter I'll suffocate out there. Heat+wind+humiditiy= terrible weather AKA Summer in Houston.

Kelty- I'd gladly switch places right now!!

Amanda and Zims- totally jealous />.> I have to wait until August for my vacation with FI
