ombudsman?

Basically as soon as we got back from our wedding, H had to leave within hours. So here I am, not on his insurance, no ID. And an ID would be super helpful, especially since I work for a family on base at least once a week. H was under the assumption that I had to wait for him in order to take care of everything. But it turns out that I can get it taken care of now with my ombudsman. Trouble is, I have no idea who she is or how to contact her. Communication w/ H is limited. Is there some way I can look it up??

The Ombudsman can't do it for you, she can just direct you to the right places to do it. Google USS shipsname ombudsman and you should find contact info. For insurance your H needs to go to admin with the marriage certificate and have you added to his page 2.

I never heard of doing it that way, I imagine they could help with the ID, but I am not sure about the insurance and so on. H left me with POA paperwork that was specific for DEERS, Page 2,  something else, and a general POA. I was under the impression that was the only way to do it... perhaps it is for me considering his ombudsman is halfway around the country and not really much help in OK.

I know H knows the ombudsman and gave me all her information... not that it reall helps me here... but your H should know, and many of them have FB accounts and that is what H gave me.


Unfortunatly, I don't think I am much help!

Text or give me a call and I'll give you the.Ombudsman's information. What Beach said is right though. They wont be able to help you much. If your H has a copy of your marriage certificate, have him bring it to personnel on the ship and get you added to his Page 2. This will make things easier for when you go to DEERS. You cant really do much though since you don't have a POA or the proper forms filled out by him to enroll you in DEERS.
