CN: While at the MC Toys for Tots campaign, a SM asked Michelle Obama to the MC ball for next year. She said yes but that she would have to confirm with the President first. 

How cool would it be if they ended up going? Security will have to be very tight at that ball though. This guy's got some guts to even ask the First Lady!

I think it's really nice, but I have to admit, I'm pretty much over the whole celebrity at the Marine Corps Ball thing. I'm a kill joy I know, but seriously..it's getting old

Sami: I feel the same way about SMs asking celebs too, using Youtube for that just got way too cheesy for me. For me this is different though. MO is not a celebrity in my eyes and I love how much support she's always given to military families.

I feel like it's so odd to be scared of a friendly woman on television.  I mean, what about Hillary Clinton?  Nancy Pelosi?  I'd say both of those women are far scarier, and neither is even remotely as scary to me as Michele Bachmann.  But Michelle Obama?  Honestly, and this may be just me, but I feel like anyone who is "scared" of her is a racist.  I just don't see even one scary thing about her as a person, so I can only imagine that it has to do with race.  Is that too much?
